The Marmot Boys' Ajax Jacket is a down filled jacket for warmth as the fall sun disappears past the horizon turning the day to night. The 600 fill power down insulates the upper body and is also coated with a water-resistant treatment, helping keep you warmer in damp weather situations (than untreated down). The lightweight polyester ripstop fabric secures the down within sewn-through baffles, durable and abrasion-resistant so your adventurous young man can go about the outdoors as normal. The durable water repellent coating to the outside provides additional weather resistance, allowing a light rain or snow to bead up and roll off before soaking into the surface fabric. The slip-in hand pockets warm his hands as he walks around camp and a horizontal zip chest pocket secures snacks or headlamp close by. He can even sneak into the tent and use as a pillow during a mid-day nap.
Products on Sale are Discontinued Styles or Colors.

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. It's cute to think of a fabric as being afraid of water. Now if only they could make a bearphobic coating. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.
Marmot Down Defender
Marmot Down Defender helps prevent down from clumping when exposed to water or moisture. This allows it to keep its loft, which equates to greater insulation. It's insurance against crummy weather. But you don't have to fill out pesky insurance forms. Nothing will stop the specially treated, highly water-resistant down from trapping warm air next to your body.

Cute, runs super smallPros:,,Cute and stylish,,Great price,,,,Cons:,,Runs really small. I bought a XL for my smaller than average 11-year-old son and it barely fits. ,,Yeah it is down but it is Duck down not goose down.,,It's superthin. So I took it to the test and I put it on to go outside when it was snowing and 20° I stayed out there for 20 minutes. I was not freezing cold however I was not warm and toasty. My goose down jacket is definitely warmer than this jacket and it's the same amount fill. I would like to return it but my son seems to like it even though I don't know if it'll fit a full season.

SolidThe fit is good. L is plenty roomy for our 10 year old boy for this year. He's average height and weight for his age. The fit is consistent with other Marmot boys products - he also had a M and now has an L rain shell from Marmot. This fits well under it for layering. ,,,,It is a bit thin, but it's what we wanted. Light and packable, decent warmth under a shell.

Great JacketThe jacket was purchased for my grandson. He needs a warm jacket to ski in New Hampshire and this is a great choice. And the quality seems to be a lot better than another name brand jacket he had before
