The Marmot Aura 2 Person Tent is an ultra-light backpacker’s delight. With a maximum weight of just over 5 pounds, this Marmot 3 season tent won’t totally weigh you down while hiking through majestic mountain trails, and the color coded fly and poles make set-up a breeze. By giving the poles knees, Marmot’s designers gave this 2 person tent vertical walls, allowing you to use every inch of the 30.5 square foot floor area and, with 40 inches of vertical head space, you’ll have plenty of room to sit Indian style and play a quick game of Euchre before it’s lanterns out. A few other things that make the Marmot Aura 2 Person stand out in the crowded world of three season/two person tents: Two supes roomy vestibules that offer 18 feet of additional storage space (9 feet per vestibule), a door on each side for easy in/out access (no crawling over each other, unless you’re into that kind of thing), no drip sidewall design and, with the use of the Marmot Aura 2P Footprint, you can turn your Aura 2 Person Tent into an ultra-light, quick pitch tent for trips where weight really matters. Plus, on a clear night, you can totes ditch the fly to get a 360 view of the night’s sky. If you point out Cassiopeia and Orion, your gf will think you’re a legit star master.

"Love it, very roomy for it's weight and 2 person rating" 03/01/12
A lot of two people tents are more like 1 person and a pack, but with one is great, and it's light. I honestly don't notice it being much smaller than my Marmot swallow 3p tent when I'm inside it even though the square foot specs say it should be. The knee poles make it really nice for taller people by having more vertical walls for extra head/foot room. Having two doors is great, and enough vestibule room to get a pack and boots in there and still get in/out.
"A 2 person tent that's actually a 2 person tent" 01/19/12
I was surprised how roomy this thing is. The knee system is a really cool feature, and the interesting pole structure also does great in increasing the headroom in the tent. Like others have said, it's a little weird getting used to setting up, but once you have a little experience it isn't a problem.
"great" 09/23/11
I am 6-2 and I use the long Big Agnes sleeping bag system, which is great in itself. This is the only tent I could find in this price range with good ventilation and I actually fit in it without touching my head or toes to the tent.My first outing with it was at 10,000 feet when a rain-turned-to-hail storm rolled in. It was a very very heavy downpour and my tent was mostly dry by the end: no large drops made it through the rainfly, but at times there were "mist drops" coming down from rain getting forced through the rainfly. I was worried my down bag and gear would get soaked by morning, but everything stayed dry.
"My favorite tent" 09/13/11
Of my 5 tents, this is my favorite combination of interior space, comfort, and weight. Sure, you can save a small amount of weight but generally that means you are accepting a much smaller interior or are suddenly paying twice as much (or more). The large amount of mesh makes it a great "breather" and the stargazing through it is unsurpassed. It is hard to recommend a better tent!
"Excellent in every way" 07/12/11
Love this tent. Light and compressable. Set up is easy (after the first time anyway). Design is great, the verticle side walls add a lot of space, easy for my son and I to sit upright while in the tent. Vestibules are big for a small tent. Like that it can be set up with just the fly and the footprint (which is a must have accessory). On a clear night when the fly isn't needed, the ventilation is great. Last backpacking tent I will ever need.
"Light, roomy, great ventilation" 07/12/11
The design is fantastic. The side walls are verticle, making for a lot of headroom. My son and I are both quite comfortable. The vestibules are roomy and keep rain off. In dry weather, the ventilation is great. The tent is light and packs up small. Very happy with my purchase.
"Great Tent!" 07/08/11
I've had this tent for a bout a year now and it's been on several outings. It withstood 50+mph winds all night on top of White top mountain in VA. Does great in rain too! It's super easy to set up and has no sleeves to push pole through only convenient clips. On clear nights leave off the fly and it's like sleeping under the stars but without the bugs! use fly and footprint (it's worth the investment) for lightweight shelter. honestly, best 3 season tent i've owned.
"Great buy for two-person adventures!" 05/18/11
I have used this tent on several trips where rain and nighttime bug protection were necessary. Without the rainfly, all it really does is bug protection. I would rather sleep outside if its not gonna rain. But the rain it did see it held up well and kept me dry. The construction seems very solid, and the two vestibule design makes sharing the tent easy, even when you aren't sharing it with a pretty lady. Spacious enough, but its a backpacking tent so hey.
"what a nice tent" 05/11/11
Couldn't be happier with this tent. A very spacious design, we had four of us in here comfortably playing cards. The set up is quick and easy, the mesh makes for a great night under the stars. It isn't an ultralight tent, but I don't have a problem carrying it in my 55 liter pack for a few nights. We have been in some pretty heavy rains, but we stayed dry all night strong winds took my friends big agnes for a ride, but the aura stayed put. Kind of a pricey tent, but i am certainly not disappointed. Make sure to get the footprint, and protect your investment.
"Is this thing for real real?" 04/02/11
Love the Aura.......if you love madness you will absolutely love this tent. Spacious for a couple. It also helps that you each get your own door and Vestibule!!!! Easy to split for you backpacking types and a breeze to set up. We love using it without the fly on those starlit nights.
"Lightweight, plenty of space, great ventilation plus an awesome color!" 02/26/11
We took this tent to Glacier last summer and it was fantastic. After you learn how to set up the tent (it is a bit different from most, but still easy) it can be built in just a couple minutes. We also purchased the footprint, which gives you the option of just using that with the rainfly to shed some weight. We stayed dry, happy, and pretty warm in this tent on cooler nights and through a couple storms. It might be my favorite piece of equipment right now. No complaints so far!
"Great roomy tent!" 10/26/10
I'm extremely happy with my aura 2 tent. The only challenge is mastering the pole system which is a little challenging. Its a very roomy tent for 2 people with 2 large vestibules.I've used it in a variety of conditions and haven't been disappointed yet.
