Great mat once you break it in!Like many others, I jumped on this mat and was immediately turned away by its slipperiness. It didn't seem to make sense though since this is made of the same material as the infamous Black Mat Pro (just thinner, narrower, shorter, lighter). After some research, I learned that you need to let the mat sit out in the sun and scrub it down with salt water to help break down the coating and make it tacky. After a few weeks of traveling with this mat (makes a great travel alternative to those who can't live without a real mat - those skimpy "travel mats" don't count), I have fallen in love. Manduka for life - guaranteed!

Leave it for the prosThis is an amazing mat for professional or experienced yogis. I would not recommend the mat to inexperienced, novice, or casual yoga people as it takes some work to "establish" the mat the way you want it by breaking it in and it is also a high price tag. If you teach yoga, like me, this is a good choice. However, if you are a newbie go ahead and buy a cheaper version at target and work your way up.

Waste of $70, Save your money and get another mat!I was in need of a new mat, walked into my local moosejaw and found the Manduka Pro lite mat (Lifetime guarantee is very convincing) took it to my weekly yoga class and not only was it uncomfortable but I was slipping the entire hour! It totally ruined my day. Do not buy this mat!! There are plenty of other mats you can buy for the price that are better quality (REI has a great selection). I love Moosejaw don't get me wrong but when it comes to these mats it's a no buy.

Best Mat ever.... had it for years now!I have this mat, got it at a Yoga shop before I even knew about Moosejaw (way better price on here). Anyway, I went through a mat ever few months before this mat and they would get gross, fall apart and stained even when cleaned. The Manduka just gets a light spray of a tea tree oil and water solution wait a minute and wipe it off and it's good to go, no stains!! I have the midnight blue by the way. Noticed lots of complaints about slipping, instructors even-- this is an easy fix my instructor shared, just get a super and I mean super fine sand paper and wipe across the mat to take that slippery sheen off. Then clean it as I mentioned. You only do this once right when you get it and it isn't slippery anymore. You must use very very fine grade-- best investment ever-- if you love yoga go get this awesome mat you deserve it.

Great mat once broken inMost "serious" yogis I know have a Manduka mat so I wanted one too because I always had issues with slipping, both with my feet and my hands. At first I wasn't impressed because with the new mat I had the worst slipping issues ever which is very frustrating if you get such an expensive mat to avoid just that. But after several months of regular use (twice a weak) and repeated cleaning, the mat is finally great and I expect to enjoy it for years to come. ,,The mat has an good weight, not flimsy, not too heavy, nice thickness. The size is good. I like the color choices. The mat does not smell as bad as some others do. That mat is of high quality and will last decades. It is made in Germany I think which I prefer over some other manufacturing countries. ,,The only reason this is not getting 5 stars is because the breaking in time is too long and I wish the manufacturer could do this work for us somehow. Initially the mat made my yoga practice worse before it made it better.

The absolute best matThis mat is sticky unlike the prana ones, which are slippy. So wen you get sweaty this mat will allow you to keep going without having to stop and mop up. These mats are heavier and last longer. They are cushier and make head stands and shoulder stands less painful.

My wife loves it and very happy with me!My wife wanted a thicker mat to help support her knees better while participating in yoga class! She is very happy and feels like a yoga pro now. This mat will last her a long time and money well spent. She really enjoys it.
