"Ideal glacier rope"  04/09/10

I use this rope primarily for glacier travel, where a large leader fall is unlikely. I find the 30m length is perfect for a 2-person team, and the 8mm diameter makes it almost unnoticeable on my pack. Moderately water-resistant, but dragging it through glacial pools will soak it. Rated for double-rope duty, it's probably not going to snap on a small leader fall, and I've been known to climb pitches of rock and ice with it. It's very slick, which is good until you need to belay with it; even my Petzl Reverso has a tough time holding onto it. But for general glacier travel, I couldn't think of a more perfect rope.
