The MSR Women's Lightning Explore Snowshoes are an aggressive, ultralight shoe with comfortable bindings to get you through long days during on- and off-trail adventures. The toothy 360° Traction frame is slimmed down to accommodate a narrow gait, so you can walk as normal and still get stellar traction through all conditions. The ballistic fabric decking is tough and durable while keeping weight at a minimum. Strap these puppies to your feet with the new HyperLink™ bindings, they cradle your foot like a Momma does her baby (soft and gentle, without any hot spots). The ratchet system cinches the heel and forefoot straps down and the red side buttons adjust and release as necessary. Set the heel strap only once, and you won't have to release it again, unless of course you change your footwear or let someone borrow your trusty snowshoes. One last thing before I sign off here, Ergo Televators! Flip this handy little bar up with a flick of your trekking pole grip and ease into an uphill climb.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Preforms as promised and than some I have used several types of snowshoes over the years with these being the best yet.. I really like the angle adjuster, I have a slight inward stance and have always struggled with that, this feature corrects this with 100% difference noticed.. the bindings are easy to use and with the addition of the float tails preforms just like my old school bear claw shoes. Very happy with this purchase. The only thing I noticed is there is an indentation that is occurring on webbing from two rivets that are located on the bottom of the binding at the heal. I am sure the main webbing will not be punctured and if it was MSR would replace this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Impressed! I bought these snowshoes to replace a less technical pair that I purchased last year to see if I enjoyed the snowshoeing experience. Wow - what a difference quality makes! I was out for several hours today in varying terrain, lightly packed snowmobile trails, open fields and on wildlife trails in the forest - the shoes were very lightweight with great traction. Once the bindings are set up (very simple), adjustment on the go or to release is very simple. I am very impressed with the quality and performance of these snowshoes and look forward to years of use!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good While They Lasted I only used these snowshoes a few times before the ratchet buckle on the strap broke and I was unable to release the strap. Other than the ratchet breaking they are amazing snowshoes! The design for a more narrow gait is extremely beneficial for a small female like myself (I'm 5'1") and makes carrying heavy loads much more efficient than with traditional and clunky plastic MSR snowshoes. The ability to add the tails and therefore more surface area and float is a nice feature of these snowshoes for powdery snow conditions. I returned them due to the broken strap and ended up in my mind upgrading to the lighter and more durable MSR - Women's Lightning Ascent. Overall these are great snowshoes and I would recommend them to any female friends looking to put some miles on them in the backcountry with a heavy pack.

All the research I did said MSR was the best and two of friends bought them on my recommendation . I also purchased the bag to store them in so now very thing is ready to go in a moment notice.
