"Either buy this stove or GTFO"  04/13/12

My experience scouting, ice climbing, mountaineering and SAR training, I have never been more impressed by a stove. When you're on a SAR drill and you absolutely have to have warm food for a frozen hiker at -80 F. this stove performs like a champ. In a sick puppy sort of way, it makes my day when people ask to borrow my whisperlite because their hundred-dollar canister stove is inoperable. Cold weather, high altitude, impacts from large rocks, and other acts of God all will disable a stove, except the MSR. There really is no finer camp cooking implement in the world. So buy it, or stop complaining about cold food in the wilderness.

"Reliable, Durable, Fantastic"  03/06/12

It might not be the lightest stove on the market, but it will never break or fail on you! I started out using my father's, who owned one for many years, and I was so impressed I went out and bought my own for individual use. Works in the cold, works at high altitude, and works while car camping. You won't be sorry with this purchase because you'll never need to buy another stove again!

"Will work for years"  02/05/12

The newer stoves may have the butane canisters and be easier to operate, but this stove will last forever. I have had one for 10 years now and I have never been let down. If you perform the routing maintenance, you will be very happy.

"Incredible stove that is easy to use!"  01/28/12

This stove was extremely easy to master. My brother bought it for me for my birthday and I was stoked! I had never used any camp stove before--so I was totally green. Well, take it from me, the whisperlite is extremely easy to use. Just plug n play and I was boiling my first cup of water! Boil time was just over a minute. Packing up is a cinch too. Just turn off the valve, let it cool, and pull out! I am going to love this stove for years to come!

"good stove"  01/17/12

My school uses these for their outdoor rec program, and since I dont own my own stove, so do I. I have used this stove on many backpacking trips and have had no problems. Its light and doesnt take up much space. It may be a little tricky to use for first time users, but it isnt hard to get the hang of. This is the stove I will be purchasing for myself when I have the need for my own personal stove.

"Sounds like a little jet, cooks like a little jet."  12/20/11

This little, light, easy to use stove is the best I have used. We've used and abused ours and you can't even tell. Some say it is hard to light, but with a little common sence its a breeze. We've cooked a ton of meals in this little thing, and with the right pan or pot its like cooking on your home stove but super fast. We usually take about 50 oz. of fuel for six days for four guys. I have recomended this to so many others and will continue to do so.

"An oldie but a goodie"  12/20/11

Easy to use, easy to clean, reliable in every situation. No camper, biker, traveler should ever be without one. That said, the international version accepts a number of fuel types, if you are survivalist, that one may be better suited for you!

"Portable, sturdy, and easy to use"  12/19/11

My husband and I have this stove not only for hiking, but also for emergency preparedness purposes. If an emergency were to happen, we'd definitely trust this little guy to get us through for a while. It's small enough that it's easily portable, yet sturdy enough not to topple over with a decent sized cooking pan. Plus. the mechanism isn't too difficult to figure out, even for someone only mildly experienced in hiking like me.

"Easy to use, easy to clean, wouldn't use anything else"  11/23/11

I've had this stove for over two years and am still in love with it. I work as a wildlife field technician year round and spend most of my time out in the field, so I've probably spent over 400 nights cooking dinner on this stove, it still works perfectly, cleans easily and has never failed me.

"Awesome Sauceem'!"  06/25/11

Purchased early spring of 2010. I use it for now for all my overnight adventures with up to two carcasses participating, including car camping. A small learning curve to get used to lighting it and need some one-on-one time to figure out how to manipulate the flame a bit, but this thing works fine. If you need a consistent, easily attainable simmer mode, get a dragonfly or simmerlite. Some dozen trips from a couple days to a week in length, in all weather conditions, including a sub freezing trip and it has not dissapointed. Get's a bit sooty, but cleans easily and the ability to keep the jet clean just by shaking seems to work as I haven't had any flow problems. I'm going to keep mine.
