"Great kids snow shoe" 04/04/11

We live in Northern VT and get a fair amount of snow (323 inches this season :-), my wife and I both have the MSR Denali's and my 7 yr old son has been using the MSR Tyker for the past 3 seasons. This year we added another pair of MSR Tyker for our 3 3/4 year old daughter. Even though the snowshoes have a fixed heal, they are the easiest snowshoes I have ever seen a kids use. They are right size (length and width) and have the best snow gripping hardware of any kid’s snowshoes. Both my kids have truly enjoyed being in the snow (deep or packed) with theses on there feet. 100% recommend these for kids.

"They need to hinge so the heals don't lift and make your kid look like frankenstein kicking snow up" 05/15/10

I have the Denali Evo and love them so I was disappointed that my 6 year old does not like these. He noticed immediately that his heals did not lift and mine did. It appears to be awkward for him to walk with them this way. I like the MSR shoes but wish I went with a kid shoe that has this feature. Otherwise they work well and are simple.They need to hinge so the heals don't lift and make your kid look like frankenstein kicking snow up his back.
