The MSR Trail Lite Duo System is a two person cookset for eating in the backcountry. The combination provides you with a single 2L, Hard-andonized aluminum pot that has a ceramic non-stick coating that is super durable as well as easy to cook in and clean. The strainer lid is clear, so you don't have to remove it to see if your water is boiling and you don't even have to remove it when it's time to strain water off your macaroni (or whatever else you're cooking). The kit also includes two DeepDish™ bowls and two double-wall insulated mugs, color coded so you don't accidentally eat your partner's spaghetti. It totally keeps their mitts off your coffee in the morning too.

Good simple pot set.I have taken this set car camping and hiking in B.C. for a year or two. In the past I have had problems with non stick coatings peeling off. This seems to have been addressed with the anodized treatment. There is a spot that has always been there where there is no white anodizing but it doesn't seem to be growing. These are a good compromise between weight and functionality. Going ultra light there are enough utensils in here for three or four people to eat off of without getting to creative. Its a good product I think the quality control could be better reference the spot on the anodizing but overall I am satisfied.

used and abusedI bought this set last summer and since then it has seen some hard times. After i cooked dinner i forgot to turn the burner off and left the empty pot cooking for almost 10 minutes before i realized. Suspecting the pot would warp and the non stick ceramic coating would warp or flake off I was pleasantly surprised to see how well it held up. the pot didnt warp and the coating didnt come off. on a seperate occasion the cookset was dropped off a ledge onto a rock bed ten feet beneath and aside from a small dent in the lid and some scratches it looked good as new. I have used and abused this set for over a year and still performs as well as when i first bought it. Love the light weight and durability of this set!

I don't see the valueIt's light. It's convenient. The mugs and bowls certainly don't make up the high price tag, so the pot must be the expense. The pot handle detached its first night of use. It wasn't easy to reattach (but not difficult), and it now has to be handled with more care than preferred. The lid may be clear, but you still can't see inside during use because of the steam. We also bought the compatible coffee press, which is nice; however, removing that center plug is no joke. We couldn't change it out while we were out in 30F, even after boiling water. We tried again when we got back to room temperature. In the end, we destroyed the center plug to remove it, and changed out for the coffee press. It's ready for our next trip, but I the pot handle does not give us confidence.

Great for two! This is a great setup for two people. Bowls and cups nest completely inside the pot/lid so it takes up minimal space in a pack. The pot and handle are both sturdy. I like the clear lid that lets you see what is going on inside.
There is room inside the cups to stash a lighter, salt/pepper and utensils (depending on the length).

Everything you needPerfect set for 2 people (or more willing to share). Used this while cooking for 5 people, we had a second similar set but opted to reduce the number of dishes and just share the plates. Cleanup was a breeze. Seems slightly taller and skinnier than some of their other nested sets, which I found to help fit better in the pack.

Works great for one or two peopleI have used this set quite a bit and it is an added little bit of luxury in the backcountry to have both a mug and a bowl! I love that my stove can fit inside. Everything cleans up easily and is easy to use. It is also helpful to have two different colors (no more stealing my coffee!). I highly recommend this product.

Nice design. The pot is great, love the no stick interior. The bowls are very nice, The cups are a little weird shaped but that in no way takes away from their functionality. I wish there was a way to fit the fuel canister inside with both cups in it. Also I think they should have included a stuff sack. Overall a very nice set up.

Above and Beyond what I hopedI brought the Trail Lite Duo system on a 2 month trip to Patagonia where myself and two others depended on this pot for hot breakfast water most days and cooking for most dinners. Combined with the pocket rocket, this pot performed extraordinarily well for the three of us. Water boiled quickly (except for a few times when the wind was close to unbearable), the lid worked well to drain pasta, clean up was easy, and we were able to make enough food for the three of us (21-25 year old women). The only problem I had was that one night when we had packed the pot particularly full of pasta, the handle separated from the pot when my friend tried to drain the water. This resulted in us having to eat dirty pasta, but in the future we used our beanies as oven mitts to hold the pot while pouring out water and no more issues.
I really liked how compact everything was. Since my friends had their own dishes they brought, I left the second pot and mug at home and was thrilled that I could fit the pocket rocket in place of the second mug.
