"very cheap, tasty water" 04/26/12
I used it in order to drink water from the lake. I cannot know much about how clean the water actually are since I'm not a chemist. what I can say is that the water were quite tasty, and it is a very cheap and compact way to make sure you don't get any kind of infection.

I use this in conjunction with an MSR Sweetwater filter (which takes out everything down to .02 microns, i.e. everything but viruses). The filter takes out the junk and this kills everything else. No a tiny bottle if you're going ultralight but you could always put it into something smaller. Not a bad idea for international travel besides being a great solution in the backpacking.It's worth noting I've considered getting a Steripen instead of the filter/drops combo but I've read too many mixed reviews to trust that as a standalone solution. I take plenty of risks, drinking questionable water isn't one of them (been there, done that, being sick in foreign countries or the wilderness sucks).

Started using Sweetwater purification solution years ago…you should know that our relationship has only grown stronger since. I’ve used tablets and the the two part solution mix as well (mix this…wait forever, balance the caps on your leg, now mix that with bla bla bla too much work). The Sweetwater purification solution is by far my favorite choice and when combined with a basic water filter, makes the water taste like it's from home. If you can find it, pick a couple bottles up, as they are often out of stock or hard to find. The bottle is a little larger and heavier, but for me, I don't skimp on water when I'm out in the bush!
