"The only option for msr stoves." 12/18/12
Well, I really like the msr whisperlite international stove and this will work as a replacement for the pump. My original lasted me about 6 years of regular use, so I have no complaints. Oh, if it gets jammed because you are using some really crappy fuel don't unscrew the little white plug (where the air gets pumped in) and then blow through it. If you do the little rubber ball might be blasted off into nowhere land which is irreplaceable...Or carry the repair kit...
"This fuel pump is a drastic improvement from the former version. Get it!" 11/04/11
I've had a MSR WisperLite international stove since '99. It was running rock solid until a few seasons ago. Unfortunately, I was having a bit of intermittent flow issues. I disassembled the stove and cleaned the guts and the put in a new jet to no avail. (note:if you're using white gas and use the jet with the "K" on it, that's for kerosene, you’re using the wrong jet). I tried different pump techniques, under/over/medium pressure, etc. THEN I got this pump and my stove is like new again. If you are camping in conditions where butane gas doesn't do so well (uber cold)...try this pump and you're going to be warm, fed, and sleeping by the time your buddies warm up their gas cartridges.
"This will be the family heirloom" 02/25/08
So i bought the WL-Int. roughly 2.73 million years ago and could no longer ignore the cracks in the plunger happened on a descent...no fault of the plunger...and now i've essentially got an entirely new stove again. I'm going for an even 3 million years of use this time.
"Only took them 20 + years to get it right" 02/06/08
Having just had one of the older style standard pumps break while climbing Mt. Whitney I was hopeful some of the flaws would be resolved in the new design. From all appearances they have. It really looks as if MSR has FINALLY gotten it right. They eliminated the plastic 'notch' which secured the pump to the pump body that tended to break off. Now there is a screw on cap which makes it easier to lubricate the pump plunger.
"Not that great for filling balloons." 12/07/06
Everything's pretty much been said by everyone else...comes with a windscreen...smooth action...newest model...more reliable than old model...wish it was a model...a hot model...replaced my old faulty XGK EX's pump. Good times. Fire's fun. Especially very blue super hot fire. So I can burn pancakes. Yeah. Perhaps the greatest piece of plastic you will ever buy...with little pieces of metal too. And a twisty part. And a pully part. It's like a BopIt.
