Great little stove for boiling water or stuff that can be cooked in a small cup/pot (e.g. soup, noodles). Fast boiling times is helped by good wind protection plus the heat transfer seems very efficient. Need to be gentle but can get it to simmer. A little heavy but this really serves 2 (get the 1.0L version for solo). With an 8oz canister, it's a really tight fit, easy fit with 4oz canister. Be careful if you fill the 1.7L pot close to the top especially if it's something denser than water (e.g. soup). Even a full 8oz canister weighs little in comparison so it is prone to toppling. Using a canister stand makes a big difference. Don't forget matches or a lighter, no integrated igniter here.
I've used this mainly for melting snow and one pot meals. It's crazy fast. It goes from flint spark to inferno in seconds, and the boil time is as advertised. Even when shoving the fuel cansiter directly down in snow in exposed wind, I was able to prepare ample drinking and boiling water. There are smaller and lighter options for warm weather cooking, and it doesn't do simmer. But when it comes to melting snow and boiling water for 1-2 people FAST, I haven't used anything better.
What a beast, awesome for doing one thing really fast, i.e. boiling water. It's not the lightest or most svelte, but it is reliable and really powerful. It pretty much has two modes, off and nuclear furnace. Being a canister stove it isn't ideal for really cold conditions, but that can be circumvented by warming the fuel canister in a *safe* manner, e.g. storing in sleeping bag, hand warmers, warm water, etc. If used right, it is the best out there for melting lots of snow quickly. If you want something much lighter but a little slower, get a Jetboil Ti.

SO, not only does this wonderful piece of engineering boil water up real quick, it will also manage to work even after you forgot that you put your stove behind your car and ran over it. just pulled the mesh up and it worked great. doesn't simmer all that well....
