Rated 5 out of 5 by from A stove of this quality for under $40? Buy one already! You may be thinking to yourself, "Gah, this little stove probably doesn't do all that well... It is small, it is cheap, it isn't FANCY!" Lets be honest with ourselves here, yes it isn't the Reactor, but for the price, this thing is AWESOME! I have never had an issue with my pocket rocket that was a deal-breaker. Sure, in high winds (12+mph) it becomes less effective at boiling the water in your kettle. But for a super light stove, for under $40 you cant go wrong. Plus, it is nearly indestructible so you will never have to buy another. ,,,,FYI, it also doubles as a grappling hook, best to turn it off first though.....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple camp stove. I've used this stove a lot and I like how simple it is. No spilling fuel or worrying about the igniter not working. Just screw on the canister, use your own lighter or striker and you are good to go. This stove and a fuel canister easily fits inside of a camp cup or small pot with no problem. It's very stable when using a larger diameter fuel canister. Some people down canister stoves because they are all like " what if I can't find a canister and I need to be able to siphon gas out of a car to cook my squirrel soup during a zombie apocalypse" and I'm like "bro, did you just say zombie apocalypse? I'm hiking the AT, everybody has canisters"

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's nice and compact I bought this stove because of all of the great reviews and the fact that there were so many of them. I was looking for a very compact camp stove for those places that just don't let you make a good ol' fashioned campfire. I have to say, I knew it was small, but this thing compacts real tight so you can store it in your pot and remove some of that negative space inside it. it's very simple which I like as well. Haven't picked up fuel to use it out in the field yet, but I'm sure it will be awesome.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from small, light, powerful. What more do you want? My wife bought this for me as a replacement for my old coleman peak one. In my opinion it is far superior to the coleman in almost all respects. the only real concerns i have with the design is that the actual pot surface contact is a lot smaller on this stove, but since i don't pack a sauce pan to make omelets while out backpacking it really doesn't matter. It is smaller, lighter, smoother operating and burns just as hot. even packed in the plastic case it still fits into just about anywhere. These iso-butane stoves are not really great when it is really cold outside, so you will be wanting a white gas stove if going out below about 10 Fahrenheit or so. I have only used them down to 15 and they take a bit to start burning well at that temp.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The perfect minimalist canister stove First off, there are people who should probably look for a different stove:,,,,-winter mountaineers looking to melt massive amounts of snow,,-expedition leaders cooking gourmet meals for huge groups,,-ultralight cult members who prefer to cook with twigs or eat cold ramen every day,,-people who don't like nice things,,,,For the rest of us, this is the perfect stove. My primary use for this stove is to heat up water in a backpacking kettle for dehydrated meals. This stove accomplishes that task for me easily and quickly.,,,,The platform for setting your cookware isn't very big, but you can fix that by choosing a good cooking location with solid ground underneath. And it's not like you're hauling a dutch oven out into the woods, right? For ordinary backpackers with minimalist cookware, this is ideal.,,,,The heat output is great. You can adjust it well enough, and simmering is possible.,,,,This stove is for wilderness backpackers of all sorts, not just ultralight enthusiasts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Lightweight, Packable Stove This stove is a mush have for any lightweight packer, as it weighs very little and packs up very small. Sure you have to have propane, but what stove runs without fuel. I was amazed by the control of the flame on this little guy, and am constantly surprised by the fact that it takes up so little space in my pack. Grab a pot, put in the canister and stove, and you have your own little cook kit ready for action!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best bang for your buck I've used several camp stoves in my time, but this is the one I always come back to. It's just super, super solid. Lightweight, easy to light, and withstands winds and weather. I've used it at least a dozen times in the last year and my only complaint is it does struggle some with larger pots and pans if you don't have super solid/level ground. But beyond that, this things is tops, can't beat MSR for stoves.
