Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple camp stove. I've used this stove a lot and I like how simple it is. No spilling fuel or worrying about the igniter not working. Just screw on the canister, use your own lighter or striker and you are good to go. This stove and a fuel canister easily fits inside of a camp cup or small pot with no problem. It's very stable when using a larger diameter fuel canister. Some people down canister stoves because they are all like " what if I can't find a canister and I need to be able to siphon gas out of a car to cook my squirrel soup during a zombie apocalypse" and I'm like "bro, did you just say zombie apocalypse? I'm hiking the AT, everybody has canisters"

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightweight reliable stove. I use my Pocket Rocket for cycle touring. I have a process of natural selection with my kit, where the annoying, unreliable stuff gets ditched. The Pocket Rocket has been in my kit for at least 4 years. Plus points: Very light, compact, reliable with a decent flame for boiling water. Negative points: Quite a focused flame, which is close to the pot. You need to keep stirring to stop food sticking and burning. I have just about learned how to simmer with it, but it isn't easy. Great for the weight conscious cycle tourist, but maybe not for gentle cooking.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Supported a year expedition I used this guy for the better part of a year, cycling over 6000 miles.. Never let me down, convenient and available (stateside), it boiled lots of water, cooked beautiful one-pot meals and packed down into the dualist cookware. I have since picked up a whisperlite for a wider fuel choice, but this little guy will always be there for weekend backpacking trips.. Note! the flame is rather concentrated on pots and pans. Its a little more work to make sure everything gets cooked evenly, but oatmeal, soups, and mushy stuff are easy. its when you bust out the pan and want to saute that it requires a bit more attention

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stands the test of time Over 10 years of use on wild camping trips in the UK and alps and this has never let me down. Have used frequently in the snow and still works fine. Love the simplicity of the design, its robustness and how small and light it is. Highly adjustable flame and can be lit with a fire flint. Have also had jetboil stoves that haven't lasted the distance... The drawbacks are that a pan on top full of water needs to be gently held in place as the full cannister, stove and pan assembly can be a bit wobbly on uneven ground, even with extended plastic feet fitted on the gas cannister. This has never bothered me though. Also you need to be out of the wind as far as possible, but again, no significant issue. An absolutely awesome product and thoroughly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent stove for camping or a zombie apocalypse I bought this stove to use while camping. This compact, lightweight stove worked extremely well. It had excellent flame control, even down to the tiniest of simmering flames. I was able to cook pancakes to a light golden-brown while camping. The ability to control the flame was much better than J**boil, so I used the other product to boil the water/soup and the PocketRocket™ to cook all of the meals. Additionally, the PocketRocket™ brought things to a boil quickly when I needed to and it didn't blow through a ton of isoPro. I would definitely use this for all of my camping needs as well as emergency preparedness (like a zombie apocalypse!).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast, light and reliable I bought this stove to substitute my MSR whisperlite international on backpacking trips. It's worked just fine in sub-freezing temps and takes almost no space and adds little weight to my pack. It's burners pack the punch of 10,000 Habeneros but without the spice and their pending gastric/renal disaster. Water was usual boiling for two meals in less than two minutes and starting was a breeze. Temperature control can be fickle, but if your bringing a stove this light, chances are you aren't cooking gourmet and just need something to boil your water. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This thing is a Beast! I've brought this nifty little stove into the Boundary Waters of Minnesota where we have to portage our canoes across some rough trails. Pack weight is critical as every ounce counts. This is my go-to item for making meals and beverages. Pair it up with some canister fuel and it's perfect for the back country. Always reliable, I never have to worry about it's performance. For the price, you can't beat it. Even if it's your emergency backup stove, it's worth every penny. Don't leave home without it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product - Would Recommend! The MSR PocketRocket was my first ever minimalist stove purchase and I wouldn't change my decision if I had the chance! I have used it in hot, cold, & below freezing temperatures all with no discrepancies. I have used it successfully with 15-20 mph wind gusts and zero problems, windproofing is available but not necessary. The size of the stove is great in that it fits just about anywhere... I personally stow it in my pot I carry with me along with my other utensils & fuel canister.
