"Prevents burnt fingers and melted polypro!" 01/13/10

12 miles into a 100 mile solo backpacking trip this summer, I pulled out my trusty butane stove and titanium cookware (complete with titanium spork), and boiled a nice pot of water for my not so nice mountain house freeze dried salty chunks. Unfortunately, the handle on my cookware was so hot I couldn't move my pot! I wrapped my base layer around it, which promptly caused it to melt to my fingers, spilling my boiled water on my boots. While I managed to make bits of moleskin work, I bought this pot lifter as soon as I got back to civilization. Never again will I have to smell melted performance wear when cooking foul tasting backpacking rations. This pot lifter works like a charm.
