The MSR Mutha Hubba NX Tent is a backpacking tent for hitting the trail with a group of three. Or maybe you like plenty of space and it's just you and one other. However you hike the backcountry, the 4lbs, 9oz weight keeps your pack light. The two doors allow a quick escape in the middle of the night and the vestibule protects gear in foul weather. When inside, you'll have enough headroom to sit up and hang with your pals and enough space to change and get ready in the morning. A combination of fabric and mesh give the privacy needed in more crowed sites while still allowing cool breezes to flow through.

Flat Out Best Tent EverI bought my MH tent about 6 or 7 years ago. It has been the most bomb proof, roomy, easy to set up tent ever. It is designed for and has handled three folks. We use it as a comfy two person on extended canoe trips and our annual horse pack trip. We've got >100 nights in it with scarcely an issue.
A storm in Utah on the Green River lifted our tent off the beach complete with the two of and our gear in it. Only a minor bend to a pole after that kartwheel. MSR gladly replaced the bent pole.
Fantastic service and a fantastic tent. Setting it up takes <3 minutes.

Best tent I have ownedI had purchased this tent a few months ago. Used it on a cool weekend and a hot weekend. The tent does it job in the rain and in the wind (even noticed the rain gutter). The best part is the ventilation. I had pitched it with extra stakes and guy cords so the breeze could come in even when raining. The only problem is I had to spend an extra to pitch it properly to get the ventilation. The hook up to the tents are there but the tent should come with more stakes and guy cords. I do like the fact there are no plastic buckles.

4 years old and still going strongI got this tent about 4 years ago now. It is still by far my favorite tent! Its light, and packs down small. Having a 3 person tent works perfect for my wife and I up here in the great north west where it rains a lot. we can stash all our gear in the tent with us and still have lots of room. Its still smaller and lighter than most of my friends 2 person tents.
Also: a few of my polls got bent in some very heavy wind. Sent back to MSR and they repaired for free! Great job guys!! love it

Great tent!If you're into light wieght back packing this tent will be perfect for you. It has more then enough room for two and a little one. It is a little tight for three, but the two extra large vestibules gives you all the room you need for everyones gear on a three person trip. I took this tent on a three night trip to Dartmoor with my five year old and it rained the entire time on us. It keep us and our gear dry the entire time. Could not ask for a better lightweight backpacking tent!

Great for TwoAfter a few years in a two-person tent, we decided to upgrade our space. The Mother. Hubba NX (2016 model) is exactly what we needed (I got flagged for profanity, so imagine the shortcut for the word "mother" in the product title). This is our new backpacking tent, so weight was an important spec. It is just a couple of ounces heavier than our two-person tent and has much more room for two people. It has a generous floor plan with tons of usable space. We usually prefer the doors to be on the sides, but the end doors on this tent are perfect. The fly can actually be unzipped while you are sitting in the tent, which is one of the first things I noticed. Now I don't have to get halfway out of the tent to unzip the fly! The fly has rain gutters (which we haven't needed yet) and can be partially rolled up to increase ventilation. The fly also has vents, which can be propped open or left closed. The tent came with enough (12 needle) stakes. We also purchased the footprint, which adds just a little weight, but seems to work great. The tent sets up very fast and easy with two people. My only "con" is that there are not a lot of inside stretchy pockets to store your headlamp, phone, etc. Each corner has a small pocket, but I think we will be making a gear loft (or purchasing one).

8 years and still going strong!I bought this tent 8 years ago. Never looked back. I have used my tent in many different climates. The west coast of British Columbia, Tennessee (bonnaroo) and Hawaii. It has never failed. I love when people with the huge "comfortable" tents get soaked and are no longer "comfortable". If I ever need to buy another tent (I can see why they are more expensive because the tent is a one time purchase) it will definitely be a MSR.

Very waterproofMy boyfriend and I bought this tent for the west coast trail. Although we hadn't tackled the trail quite yet we took it car camping a little while ago and it downpoured for 2 days. The tent held up great! The sides were getting a bit damp but nothing inside got wet at all. It's also very roomy for 2 people and feels very luxurious on the trail given all the head space. Lots of pockets too!

Great tent!I got this tent as a prize and have been very impressed with it! It keeps the rain out, the vestibules are great and I like how the rain fly attaches. My one improvement is that it isn't very breathable. All your breath's condensation collects on the inside if a vestibule isn't left open (which can't be done if it's too cold or raining.) Other than that, I love it - lightweight and roomy!
