"Works as advertised" 04/02/13
Works well, fits on a few different cups that I use. Most recently came in handy during a multi-day power outage when my caffeine addiction was really flarin' up. Very fine too, I never had any grounds get through, even dust from the grinder.
"To my surprise...." 10/30/12
I was skeptical when I bought this. I normally use a percolator or french press when car camping. And VIA instant when backpacking. And I have never been too happy with any of them. The results are inconsistent. This makes a great cup of coffee every time. Its so good that I use it at home daily with my Kuerig. Makes a solid cup of coffee and you EASILY stay in control of how mild or bold it is. Also, super light, super tough, and cleans up easily.
"Sweet product" 05/02/11
The coffee/tea filter is an awesome addition to your backpacking luxury items. I have seen lots of other coffee makers/filters that just don't hold up. This filter is tough, easy to use and fits a wide variety of mugs. Personally I need real coffee even when on the trail or at the crag. No instant coffee of coffee tea bags here. This little guy gets my day started right.
"Perfect for coffee snobs" 03/25/11
So if you love your coffee, but are not fond of the freeze dried instant garbage, this is a nice solution for backpacking trips. I am an evil person without my coffee, and this saves all the woodland creatures (and my friends) from having to deal with that. Boil up some water, dump some kona in the filter, and within minutes, delicious black wake up juice.
"Definitely a good item to have" 10/04/10
This coffee/tea filter is absolutely worth having if you're like me and can't start your day without coffee. Simple to use, fits almost any mug, sturdy construction, easy to clean. What more do you want? Add coffee grounds/tea, boiling water and you're done.
"Get this if you like coffee/tea. If you don't, get it if you like other people (and let the use it)" 05/02/10
This is a pretty sweet piece of gear, I must say. It is smaller than you might think (which is a plus) and should sit nicely in most travel mugs or coffee cups. I am not sure that I am sold on the "backpacking coffee french presses" because even the real home-use ones can be terrible if you don't get the right one. Additionally, this is easier to clean out and a lot lighter (I think this is actually negative weight) - more flexible because you can use it for tea too! Your fellow backpackers will ask you to use this because they don't want to mess around with their mal-functioning french press.
"If you have to have your coffee you have to have this!" 04/26/10
Brought this little guy with me on a two day canoeing trip. I have to say I LOVE IT! Makes a perfect cup of coffee maybe even better than my normal coffee pot. No more peculator or freeze dried coffee. I ground some fresh beans before I left and enjoyed amazing coffee the whole trip. Small and even nests inside my mug. A perfect solution for the people who have to have there coffee. Pour in boiling water wait 5-10 min depending on desired strength and there you go. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
"Don't leave home without it." 02/22/10
Bomber product as expected from Cascade Designs. I bought this for alpine use but it has ended up doing double duty making coffee and tea at home too since it fits into pretty much any cup. I will have to buy a couple more just incase.
"Perfect camp coffee machine" 10/14/09
I must admit, I prefer espresso and have a stove-top for base camping. Bought this for a hiking trip and never looked back. Will use this for base camping too as it is so quick and easy to use, and clean. Makes an excellent filter style coffee (would be great for tea also).
"Better than my coffee maker at home." 10/09/09
I purchased this product 2 years ago soley to brew coffee in the morning during backpacking trips. (Gotta have my cup or coffee) It was so easy to use and worked so well I decided to adopt this product to my everyday coffee brewing life. (Works better than a coffee maker and the best thing is cleaning is quick and easy) If you love coffee or tea I would totally recommend this product.
