The MSR Mini GroundHog Tent Stakes are powerful tent stakes in a little package. Each little stake weighs only 0.35 oz and is six inches in length. Made from aluminum 7000 series, the Y-beam design is super strong for driving into the dirt and holding your tent and rainfly down in position. The attached pull loop is a nice bright red color, so you can locate it quickly when tearing down camp and it even aids in pulling the stake out of the ground. All this steak talk is really making me hungry. Please don't try to eat your tent stakes.

they're actually pretty darn goodI mean they're tent stakes, so how excited can you get?,,,,But, they have these attributes:,,,,- The rather blunt top makes them east to smack in without bending (like the cheapo loop styles). ,,- The triangular construction makes them a lot less prone to bending when smacking into the ground with a stone.,,- They're small so they don't take up much space. Ditto on the weight (quite light).,,- They're red so they (oddly) stand out pretty good on the ground and are easy to not lose.,,,,They came with my MSR tent and I have to admit, I'm a big fan. The only modifier is I also carry a single snow stake that does double duty as a trowel.

durable stakes and lighter in wieght than the 7 inch versionI like these more than the Easton stakes in spite of the slightly higher weight. I have had the caps come off of a few Easton nano stakes. These are all one piece, take quite a beating, the cord makes them very easy to rig and to pull out of the ground, and they are hard to loose with that color screaming at you. I recommend the a combination of these 6 inch and the larger 7 inch version of these stakes for tarp pitching. There are lighter stakes available but these have not let me down or pulled out in the wind.

Very light and strong stakesI love these stakes. They are really light and strong and I love the color! They go great with MSR's reflective guy line as it makes it easily visible at night with a headlamp at low. These certainly help take a little weight out of the pack.
