Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great snowshoes, but IMHO should be wider. I have used these snowshoes every day for three months over the last three years. I have a crew on snowshoes all winter, and we have tried them all. These are definitely the best. The quality as with all MSR products is excellent, The design especially the binding is also excellent. My only criticism is that they should be wider (or that there should be a wider option available. I weigh about 235, and even with the tails I am sinking (a lot) in deep powder. More width would definitely help larger users like me stay on top, and provide more stability to prevent ankle twisting. A big plus is these are made in the US and are backed by an excellent warranty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from They eat snow and ice like no-ones... I own various type of snowshoes from wooden structure to plastic ones, but want I tried this monster a few years ago, I was totally amazed by their ability to stay in position in high angle climb. The teeth of this snowshoe are literally useful in big mountain climb of in frozen snow. They are not so light but they are designed to climb and climb in any surface. The Revo Ascent are more light but I prefer the Lightning because you don't have any torsion in the middle of the frame... So you know that you won't slip because of any torsion of the frame. The investment worth-it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best out there IMHO I snowshoe pretty much every day for 3 or more months each winter. I have used MSR Denali snowshoes for 8 years and love them. I had one binding piece break after all those miles and MSR just handed me new bindings. No fuss, no muss. Great product and great customer service. When I decided to upgrade to an ascent model, needless to say I stayed with MSR and bought the Evo Ascent. As I was used to the wider track of the Denali, I bought the men's Evo rather than the women's. Still love them. Best traction for a snowshoe on the market.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An excellent snowshoe! I've had this pair for three years now and they haven't disappointed. Much of time, we are off the beaten path and breaking trail in fresh snow and these perform very well. I particularly appreciate the heel lifts for the steeper pitch climbs and the traction is very good on hard pack or ice. My only complaint was as I have the older models, there used to be a pin to hold the excess strap tight. I ended up buying the clips to replace the pins and that helped a lot. I would recommend these snowshoes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best on a hard crust I have had a 30" pair for 7 years. They are the greatest, most aggressive shoe that I have ever seen for a hard crust. I use commercially so I riveted a sheet of neoprene underneath where my foot goes because the decking is not tough enough. I heard they now have tougher decking for the Ascents. I still use traditional laced snowshoes when there is no crust on compromised ground. The harnesses are great, the frames are excellent and I feel that they have unparalleled traction during some conditions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Snowshoes but not for the NorthEast. Bought these to do NYS 46ers and the rest of the 4000'+ peaks in the NE. Awesome design weight and use of materials. except for using aluminum for the traction system. The nature of our trails means lots of exposed rocks even in the dead of winter and because of this it really takes its toll on the aluminum teeth. used for maybe 3 peaks and decided to sell them off befor there was nothing left. went back to using the Good ol MSR Denali accents. heavier but more durable, a true 5 star snow shoe..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I got lucky several years ago and had a friend who could get me last year's model on discount, and I jumped at the chance. Call me crazy but at the time I wanted the old orange color! The grip is excellent on ascents, and the heel lift is pretty sweet. I haven't tackled any epic ascents yet, so these 'shoes feel a little like overkill on the rolling trails, but it's the kind of overkill you want on the slopes. The few steep and/or long ascents I've done were easy. While I haven't had to repair them, I like the robust, straightforward construction and availability of repair kits. I like knowing I could likely maintain them myself, to a point. My feet are huge, and thus so are my boots, so it takes a little creativity to adjust the bindings so they don't harm the decking, and mindfulness while walking to keep it that way. Overall they're pretty awesome, and going strong years later.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great traction! These shoes are awesome! at first I was concerned about the straps (thinking they might be difficult to get on and off) but after a couple uses they are a breeze to use. We hiked near Glacier Park last February, terrain was steep and icy in many places, these gripped like a champ, no worries at all!
