"Light and fast filter" |
05/04/09 |
| Some people just don't like crunchy water, one of those people is me. When it comes to filters this this is about as light and fast as you can get. The quick-lock fitting is great, no more juggling water bottles. It's also nice not having to carry a scrubby pad for when the filter gets clogged (I'm looking at you Miniworks and Waterworks). The down-side is that there is no carbon element in this filter so don't count on it to filter water near the overflow outlet of a toxic sludge factory. Just read the instructions and pay close attention to the part that says "DO NOT FREEZE". They really really mean it... Trust me. Even if it's completely dry, DO NOT LET IT FREEZE! | |

"Great for small volumes, practice cleaning at home" |
10/01/08 |
| The Good: This filter is great for 1-2 people. It pumps fast and is amazingly lightweight. The Bad: The filter is hard to clean in the field and requires that you still have clean water. The process to clean the filter is complicated and should be practiced a few times at home before taking the filter into the field. Verdict: If you're looking for a lightweight filter and don't mind the maintenance this filter is amazing. If you're looking for something bombproof or for large groups this isn't the filter for you. | |

"Will work for those who do not need the carbon" |

| I am actually returning mine. After more research, I noticed it does not have any active carbon to help with the taste. However on the up side it is very light! | |

"Best water filter period" |
05/20/08 |
| Okay, I may be jumping the gun because i haven't really field tested it. But I tried it out at home and on a local day hike. It takes a nalgene bottle from empty to full in about 30 seconds and about 8-12 pumps. It incredibly light, also lose more weight by not caring the universal adaptor and fill straight into tube of your bladder system. One down side is the pre filter holds mositure which can get messy when packing up. Plus the bathing suit model in the catalog you sent is a major cutie. | |
