The MSR Hubba NX 1-Person Tent is a solo tent for backpacking the great outdoors on your own. The tent is freestanding and can be pitched quickly thanks to the single DAC Featherlite NFL pole. The tent body is a combination of 20D nylon ripstop and 15D mesh to create a barrier between you and all the little bugs on the other side. The rainfly features 1200mm Durashield™ polyurethane and silicone to protect against the rainiest days on the trail, with a floor of 30D ripstop nylon, 3000mm Durashield™ polyurethane and durable water repellent. That was a mouthful and sounded super science-y, but that is probably a good thing and you can trust you'll stay dry through the storms. The single door and single vestibule open wide for speedy entry/exit, just stake everything out with the included MiniGroundhog™ stakes. Lightweight and versatile, you can go from 2 lbs, 14 oz all the way down to 1 lb, 10 oz; just remember folks, footprint not included, it's totally sold separately.

DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent comfort, and very well designed I bought this almost two years ago now and can safely say I've taken this product with my halfway across Ontario camping in the St. Lawrence lowlands all the way up to sunset country in northwestern Ontario, I've slept in this tent through wicked thunderstorms and torrential downpours, also slept in this tent in the winter with a -30 sleeping bag very comfortable and beautiful view of the cold winter stars without the rain fly on. Should be no problem storing gear while the tent fly is up unless you like to bring your entire arsenal with you. Having a small tarp to put your gear on a gear line is not a bad idea as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight and freestanding I got this for bicycle self supported touring and I couldn't be happier. Most UL tents at this weight are not free standing, but the Hubba is. So if conditions are not windy and you don't need the extra stakes, set up and take down are faster. And it is super easy to set up and does not require constant fiddling with the stakes and guys to get it right. Which is nice after a day on the bike when I am too tired to deal with such things. The big flat roof does not lend itself to an attic, but a side pocket would be a welcome addition. Maybe it is small and I have not seen it yet?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ideal for solo backpacking I took the Hubba NX with me backpacking and camping across southern Iceland in late summer. Through rain, sun, cold and wind, the Hubba held up like a true champ. The interior is the perfect size for a full-size sleeping bag/pad, plus space along the length of the tent for keeping some gear inside. My overstuffed 75L pack fit entirely within the vestibule, with extra space for my boots, stove, etc. The only quibble I have is that I wish there were more guyline attachment points for added security, but I still have no complaints. Even camping out in a surprise snowfield back home in Alaska, the Hubba served me well! For this avid backpacker, the Hubba NX is quickly becoming my go-to tent — another solid product from MSR.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great solution for shelter. I love this tent. It gives you everything you need for a 3 season tent. The ventilation is great and adjustable. I love the new rain gutter. I have owned a few tents by different companies that are similar but have the zipper in the middle like the Hubba use too. Water always fell right inside my tent. This new design solves hat problem. This tent is really light weight and takes up very little space in my pack. This interior is nice and bright. The vestibule accommodates my 65 liter pack and boots keeping them dry and readily accessible. I am 6ft tall and I have enough room that I don't touch. The inside is the size of a regular cut sleeping pad. I use a mummy cut pad, so I have a little free space to keep a few small things. I would recommend getting the loft. There is one small pocket inside. Not a lot of storage space, but enough. Light, dry functional shelter. Pick one up.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excels at the Basics This tent is light as a feather. It's a breeze to set up in just seconds (really, less than a couple of minutes!). I've used mine in torrential downpours, gales, and sloppy wet snow. The Hubba NX is durable, sturdy, and watertight. It's long enough for tall backpackers; I'm 6'1" and have plenty of room to spare. Two minor quibbles: the fly zipper is a stretch to reach from the closed position and occasionally snags, and the stakes and would work better with cord loops instead of webbing loops. Overall, this tent is amazing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Backpacking Tent I have only used the NX that I bought recently a couple of times but British weather being what it is both outings involved a good deal of rain. The NX is first of all very light, a major plus when you are out for more than a night (my old tent was a very well used Zoid1 which was much smaller but weighed more!). It is quick to set up and once up is very stable. The pegs that are supplied are little works of art in themselves. Space is great (I am just under 6') and allows gear to be stored in the tent and also under the fly where it is also easily possible to cook even in foul weather. The little rain gutter things work well and stop the worst of the water dripping into the tent when you unzip in the morning. A well thought out and very useable tent - excellent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome backpacking tent I bought the MSR Hubba NX Solo back in Oct 15. It has served me during some chilly and windy nights across UK most recently in Brecon. It perfectly fits one person (I am 6ft 1) with room for an inflatable single mat, a gap for your accessible goodies (torch, water bottle, valuables etc) and is great when you want natural room to sit up. The porch is perfect and fits even my large bergen, boots & other kit. The quality of build is light a reassuringly tough. Its amazing how an integral ground sheet can be so thin yet tough. I have used it when I have had to be completely self sufficient and been backpacking for a couple of days and is worth is meagre weight in gold. I also now keep it in the boot of my car as an emergency stop over. Great technical kit, 100% fit for purpose!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Balance IMO the Hubba NX offers the best balance between weight, comfort and durability of all solo tents. It is well thought-out down to the details like the big mouth compression bag. Set-up and packing is fast and easy, good ventilation and views due to lots of mesh. There is a lot of headspace but it is rather narrow. A mattress fits comfortably but gear (and the dog) has to be stored in the vestibule. The light gray rainfly makes the inner of the tent bright though for wild camping green would be a better option.
