The MSR Hubba Hubba NX 2-Person Tent is a ultralight tent for three season backpacking. The NX stands for NEXT, the next generation of the Hubba series, as it has been redesigned for 2014. The three pounds and seven ounces of the Hubba Hubba NX is the lowest weight yet, as well as offering two different fast and light modes when combined with the optional footprint. Whatever it takes to give your back respite on the trail. The color coded webbing makes for a quick and easy set up so you can clamber inside to enjoy plenty of head and shoulder room due to the symmetrical pole geometry and non-tapered floor. The two large vestibules leaves room for your gear and a friend's, with StayDry entry provided by built-in rain gutters on the rain fly. The MSR team added plenty of venting options to aid in the war against condensation, just roll up the vestibule from the bottom, open the kickstand side vents, or sleep through the night sans-vestibule. The mesh will protect you from pesky bugs. Rise early and pack up camp in a flash with the wide mouth stuff sack, cinching it tight with the attached compression straps.

DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfection This is the perfect tent. I spent s lot of time looking into other tents comparing, but for the weight and floor space this is the real deal. The best part is the attention to the tiny details. Even the stuff sack is perfect. I've had a lot of tents in the past, but this is the clear winner from the moment you begging setting it up. I really like the integrated tie downs and end grommets for the tent poles. In older tents I've had, this is an area that starts to wear down quickly and I love the extra durability and simplicity. I also love how the doors don't touch the ground when they are fully open. And it looks good people, how much more can you ask for!?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Customer Service and Warranty Issues. I have only used this tent a couple of times now, but had the model before it as well. Great little tent for backpacking. I barely notice the weight :) I am a little more careful with this one though, because it is so lightweight. These guys are SUPER to deal with for warranty issues etc.....Had an old MSR Fling, that the material had started to breakdown (older material with no UV protection), after years of use. They gave me a new tent (anything in the same price range) for the old one. I also have the Gear Shed for it as well, gives it a lot more room. Will always deal with these guys from now on, they have made me a happy customer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great tent with unnecessary problem to be solved Hello, my name is Daniel Simon fron Israel. I am traveling for several months in East Asia and examines a variety of travel gear and one of them is your tent hubba hubba. I traveled with him in a hot, humid, high, cold rainy and snowy. I traveled with him in Siberia, Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan, Japan and Thailand. isnti in single, double and three people. I would like to draw your attention to the problem can be solved easily. The problem is - the seams that connect the bottom (red) to the top (white) is not waterproof. Rain did not penetrate the cover of rain but moisture entering through the seams I mentioned and water entering inside.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best of the bests! The old Hubba version had many flaws as I looked at it until I saw the new NS tent. What a big innovation! This time MSR did a great job by paying attention to details. I would that this tent is my favorite for backpacking. I love every details of the tent. The only improvement that MSR needs to redesign better is the pockets. I wish there is a loft pocket to keep off the ground. I bought MSR gear loft, but not impressed by its weight and design, too heavy for backpacking which I don't recommend anyone to buy it. Hopefully, MSR will focus on pockets and loft in the near future. The ventilation inside the tent is excellent. There are so many adjustments on the fly to get plenty of air. Clever design! The fly gutter is the best part to keep the rain out of doorway. Door entry is much better to get in while you can put gears on other half of the fly. With gusty wind and strong rain, this tent beats the odds. No problem. No complaint about this tent. You will not regret owning one. This will last me a long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from hubba hubba handsdown First let me say I have the older design hubba hubba. I would only change one thing, and thats making it a little lighter. Now msr answered that call with the new model nx2. I told myself i would get the new model when i wear out the old one. Only one problem with that, im not sure i can wear this tent out... Its been all over with me from high alpine to thick timber. Its been through high winds, heavy rain, extreme heat, and cold snow. Basically it boils down to msr just hitting the nail on the head with this tent, its amazing. I have looked at other tents, some lighter but i just cant get rid of something i trust so much. The only problem with a hubba hubba is once you get one you wont stop telling people how impressed with it you are.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Little Tent Bought the Hubba Hubba a few months back specifically to do the West Coast Trail with my friend. We are both in the 175 - 180cm height range. The tent had plenty of space for both our mats. We kept everything else in a plastic bag in the vestibule. The tent kept us completely dry through downpours. If you use the footprint and fly first, it is easy to clip in the inner tent under shelter and keep it completely dry day after day. Free-standing was a huge bonus on the beaches and in tight sites between driftwood. I have attached a pic from our second evening at Cribs Creek.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hands down best tent I've used the Hubba Hubba model for many years kayaking the San Juan Islands and had to purchase one for myself. For 5 years I spent 50+ days sleeping in this tent in the spring thru early fall months - personal experience says it is built to last. Very intuitive and easy to pitch. I love the new design for the vestibules, allowing one to open from the side and leaving the vestibule staked. I highly recommend this beautifully engineered product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Tent This is by far the best tent I have ever owned or used. It is lightweight and durable while still roomy enough for me, my wife and, 85 pounds of dog. It is designed so that the usable space is much more than the square footage would have you believe because of the vertical walls. I have had this tent for almost 11 years through east coast downpours and west coast snowstorms. Recently I have added the gear shed for the dog. That makes the tent even more useful and adaptable.

Is this the 2016 model? I read elsewhere that the MSR added additional guy points to the 2016 model.

Asked by: Themoldycheeze

Would this be considered an appropriate tent for winter camping in climates like Michigan?

Asked by: makula11
Hey there! Thanks for reaching out to us. You bring up an excellent question. This tent is actually a three-season, meaning that it's good for Spring, Summer and Fall. It's not recommended that you use this one for Winter, especially here in Michigan! I would suggest checking out some Four-season tents. I'd check out the MSR Fury 2 Person Tent or even the MSR Dragontail 2 Person Tent. Both are solid tents.

Does this tent come with a rain-fly or footprint??

Asked by: Log Jammin
This tent will come with the 20D ripstop nylon rainfly, but the footprint is sold separately.
