The MSR Hubba Hubba NX 2-Person Tent is a ultralight tent for three season backpacking. The NX stands for NEXT, the next generation of the Hubba series, as it has been redesigned for 2014. The three pounds and seven ounces of the Hubba Hubba NX is the lowest weight yet, as well as offering two different fast and light modes when combined with the optional footprint. Whatever it takes to give your back respite on the trail. The color coded webbing makes for a quick and easy set up so you can clamber inside to enjoy plenty of head and shoulder room due to the symmetrical pole geometry and non-tapered floor. The two large vestibules leaves room for your gear and a friend's, with StayDry entry provided by built-in rain gutters on the rain fly. The MSR team added plenty of venting options to aid in the war against condensation, just roll up the vestibule from the bottom, open the kickstand side vents, or sleep through the night sans-vestibule. The mesh will protect you from pesky bugs. Rise early and pack up camp in a flash with the wide mouth stuff sack, cinching it tight with the attached compression straps.

Awesome Customer Service and Warranty Issues.I have only used this tent a couple of times now, but had the model before it as well. Great little tent for backpacking. I barely notice the weight :) I am a little more careful with this one though, because it is so lightweight. These guys are SUPER to deal with for warranty issues etc.....Had an old MSR Fling, that the material had started to breakdown (older material with no UV protection), after years of use. They gave me a new tent (anything in the same price range) for the old one. I also have the Gear Shed for it as well, gives it a lot more room. Will always deal with these guys from now on, they have made me a happy customer.

Very pleasedI bought the hubba hubba a year ago for a 3 day backpacking trip on the AT.. This is the easiest tent to set up i have ever used, which is perfect for spending more time hiking & less time assembling..I'm not a small guy, 6'1" 190lbs & took my gf on this trip,we fit just fine..for 2 guys its likely not enough but didn't buy it for that purpose..the hubba gear shed is a great addition as well..i would definitely recommend this tent for 3 season camping, leaving the fly off in the summer & enjoying the open screen is Very relaxing & the ability to setup/remove the tent from under the fly/main frame shows a well thought out product..Love to see what MSR designs next

My Go-To TentI actually own the model that was made prior to this one, but the pole configuration and dimensions are essentially the same. I've owned a handful of different tents and this one has been by far my favorite. The ease of set-up, the ample head room when sitting upright... I'm a big fan of mesh on my tents and the Hubba Hubba offers just that. I use my tent for both backpacking and car camping and never had an issue with it. I've always stayed dry. No zipper issues. Internal condensation has never really posed a problem. All in all I'd recommend this tent for anyone that is looking for a great two-person, lightweight tent.

Go AnywhereI purchased this tent this past summer after nearly a year of researching the two person backpacking-capable segment and couldn't be more pleased with my purchase. I've taken this tent car camping, single night backpacking, as well as on multi-day backpacking and found its features and weight to be far superior to any other tent I've used. Though the cut of the tent is relatively slim for two people I never experienced a bad nights sleep from lack of space. I plan on pushing the limits of this tent into the winter season this year to see just how good it truly is even compared to purpose built four season tents. I buy MSR for quality simply put, this tent is no exception.

solidbought this tent for a 55 day Canadian Rockies backpacking trip- it was perfect! We had all kinds of weather- snow, strong winds, sun, rain, hail... and the tent stood up to all of it, as long as the fly was tight. Easy to set up, and very light for the kind of shelter it provides. Also it is roomy enough that 2 of us relatively comfortably spent a whole day inside.
The only issue we had was lots of condensation, we were wet inside the tent almost every morning- but i don't blame the tent for that, sounds like everyone else in the area was having the same issue.
Oh, and i love the vent props, they are genius!

Long time companionI bought my first MSR Hubba Hubba 8 years ago for a backpacking trip accross Canada. It was the lightest and most spacious tent available at the time and it really lived up to the hype, easy to set up, small in my pack and durable. I just retired my first Hubba Hubba and purchased a new Hubba Hubba NX in the fall. Its amazing how much technology has changed! The new one weighs aprox. half of my previous one and has some great new features such as the vents on the end walls for better airflow and the drip free door. I'm sure this one will last another 8 years, and i look forward to forgetting its in my pack!

Light, quick and easy to set-upI've had my HubbaHubba for 4 years, and it is still in great conditions. I have camped on beaches, mountains (Spring and Fall), and under sunny and rainy weather. The tent is still strong, and the pole has also been very durable. It is super light, and I was able to take a five day trip comfortably, carrying stove, clothing, poles, fuel and tent (I'm a 5.3 lady). The weight and easiness to set-up are great features. I still haven't purchased the foot print, but an emergency blanket has been used for foot (so far no leaks, no scratches and no holes). It fits two people, however, if you are close to 6 feet tall, it may be tighter to accommodate gear at your feet (unless you hike solo).

So livable! My friend and I have been going camping at least twice a week over the summer, and while we both have tents (an MEC Tarn2 and the Hubba Hubba) we've only used the (my) Tarn once. I love my tent, but the Hubba Hubba is just so much more spacious!! It's great to hang out in when the bugs or bad or to kill time after the sun has set. It's also held up really well, considering all the things we've put it though! It remains waterproof even in the worst rains, and with all the mesh/ventilation, we rarely have issues with condensation. The hub poles are also a great feature. It is quick and easy to set up and take down, which is great. When my Tarn dies, this tent will hands down be the one I buy to replace it.
Does this tent come with a rain-fly or footprint??

This tent will come with the 20D ripstop nylon rainfly, but the footprint is sold separately.

Would this be considered an appropriate tent for winter camping in climates like Michigan?

Thanks for reaching out to us. You bring up an excellent question. This tent is actually a three-season, meaning that it's good for Spring, Summer and Fall. It's not recommended that you use this one for Winter, especially here in Michigan! I would suggest checking out some Four-season tents. I'd check out the MSR Fury 2 Person Tent or even the MSR Dragontail 2 Person Tent. Both are solid tents.
