The Heat Exchanger by MSR increases the efficiency of your stoves up to 25%. The unique waffled design channels the heat from the stove up the sides of the pot to increase the heated surface area of the pot. The Heat Exchanger is compatible with all MSR 1.5- and 2-liter pots. (with the exception of the Titan 1.5-liter)

"Don't leave home without it" 05/06/13

At least in the winter time when you will be melting snow for water. It makes the fuel use for any stove more efficient, which is mostly only a problem in winter. Other times of the year, it is hard to justify its weight and the room it takes up, but works like a charm when melting snow.

"Somewhere, NASA is not boiling water as efficiently." 12/22/09

I still have the old School MSR aluminum wind shield, but with my holiday bonus from work, I was only $10 shy of this, so I decided to splurge. Well worth it. I'm not cool enough to have the latest Reactor, but this little piece of kit envelops my Esbit and delivers just as well. The added plus is that Mel Gibson will let you into his home if you knock at his door with this as your head piece, because you are certifiably beyond Thunderdome then.

"boil faster = save fuel" 01/06/08

i bought a while back and really have no use for it. i can see how it really drops the boil time but i have really never been out when it was cold enough to need it. oh well, its gold and msr makes it so buy it you cheap son of a bitch.
