"Too big for MHW Drifter 2 tent." 07/15/12

I bought these trying to reduce pack weight by getting rid of the metal stakes for my tent, and the MSR's are too big for the stake holes. The fit the rainfly just fine, but I have to currently still use the metal stakes which defeats the purpose of me purchasing them. If they fit you're tent I'm sure they would be awesome

"Love these stakes" 02/26/12

Ok, am I little a weird to get so excited about tent stakes? Maybe, but these things are great. The stakes that came with my tent didn't take long to become mangled mess as I tried to pound them into the Rocky Mountain soil. These things are light weight and easy to carry. Just as easily they go into the ground, with a tug come back out, yet hold the tent down through a storm - all with out bending and breaking. At $2 each, every tent owner needs to grab a set. Seriously. Do it. They're good stakes.

"excellent stakes,light strong and hold well" 07/12/11

I have used these stakes several times,they hold very well for small light weight stakes and take up very little room.A great upgrade for most stakes that come with tents.

Very functional design. I have bent many stakes before, but not these. These seem like they will last through heavy abuse.

"These stakes are lightweight, compact and bombproof!" 04/07/11

I purchased 10 of these stakes to use with my Mountain Hardwear 2 person tent and also with my lightweight polyester tarp. Make no mistake, these things are tiny at 7.5 inches long and 0.5 inches wide. All 10 nested together take up less space than a banana, and weigh less too. I can't imagine one of these stakes bending under proper use. (Sure if you put it sideways over a gap and hit it with a sledgehammer it might bend a little!) MSR has maximized the surface area of these guys to give them excellent pullout resistance. This is a great stake to use in almost any type of soil conditions.

"Nice quality stakes, better than what usually comes with a tent" 03/29/11

Nice sturdy stake. I replaced the stock stakes that came with my tent with these. These have a nice heft to them even. Definitely feel almost indestructible vs the rather flimsy feel of the stock stakes. Definitely worth the small upgrade in cost to ensure a good secure attachment to the ground. Can't go wrong here.

"Better than what comes with most tents" 11/21/10

I have no regrets about buying these stakes to replace the ones that came with my tent. They haven't bent or snapped and can take some abuse. I used a rock to pound these into some hard earth and didn't have a problem.

"Fantastic upgrade over stock" 11/10/10

My Mountain Hardware tent came with the standard hook aluminum stakes. I knew immediately that they would not suffice for the occasional hard ground here in SoCal. The MSR stakes weigh barely more than the stock ones and are much easier to pound in when necessary. Unless you live in the land of marshmallow ground, you are going to have to eventually replace the stock hook stakes anyway, so now you know what to replace them with.

"Best Stakes ever" 11/05/10

These bad boys are lightweight and strong. I've driven into hard pan dirt no bending or breaking. You'll never use stock stakes again.
