The Fuel Bottle by MSR is designed to work with all MSR liquid-fuel stoves. Using a new safety cap design, direct vertical preasure must be applied to release for opening. Remember, fuel bottles are safety tested and are required by many sellers of fuel for filling. Where's the fun in that.

"Simple, durable, works." 04/19/13
They pack well, they're strong, and they keep working even after they look like junk. Just stay clear of the child lock cap - they're almost impossible to get off on freezing cold mornings and in my experience have a tendency to thread wrong and leak. The regular caps work perfect.
"good bottle!" 04/14/13
I understand why some people have complained about the cap. It is designed to be opened easily by people that have extra opposable thumbs. Unfortunately I lack extra thumbs but I have figured out how to open the bottle. I bought the smallest one because I tend to do mainly weekend trips and so far it has stored enough fuel for my Svea 123. (although I fill up the 4oz tank on the stove before I leave too) I think if you want something for three or more nights you may want to get the middle size. That being said it is a little hard to pour into the Svea with such a big opening, but that's why mankind has invented the funnel... Overall, a good bottle

"Middle size perfect!" 03/15/13
Definitely love the mid-size MSR Fuel Bottle. Perfect to get the job done and not hold you back from extra weight. Carries just what you need it to for a couple day backpacking trip, which is all I would ever need it for anyways. Works beautifully with my MSR Dragonfly stove - easy to load and unload and packs away nicely. LOVE IT!
"pure awesomeness" 01/16/13
I can put this bottle in my bag and not worry about it spilling or the cap coming open. The new tops that they put on them are awesome! I have a couple of the older ones and the tops came off in my bag once! Good thing my good wasn't in there!
"Excellent canister for most weather" 01/02/13
Another great product from MSR. Cover the outside in duct tape so your fingers don't stick to it in winter. I have leopard print on mine. Bottle top is easy to use and safe. sometimes I have a hard time getting it off but I just don't understand that.
"Great bottle, terrible cap" 12/29/12
This is what you expect from a fuel bottle, durable and won't leak. However the cap was designed by aliens intent on ruining your day. The cap is almost impossible to remove. You need to work it in a manner in which you are sure you will break it, and then, and only then will it finally come off. Supposedly a replacement, non-child-proof cap is available, but I am left suffering.
"I find I buy more of these than I need." 12/18/12
I like having new reliable fuel bottles on important trips. These have never let me down on any occasion. The new expedition screw top comes standard on all of the bottles, so the chance of it coming out while in a pack is virtually zero. I thought I would have a hard time flying with used fuel bottles to south america, but no...
"No other liquid fuel tank that I would trust to carry on my back!" 12/04/12
MSR makes some really amazing stoves and with these fuel bottles, you will only need to buy one to take advantage of them all! They contain useful safety information and the lid tightly secures to ensure no leaks. All in all, an awesome product!
"More uses than just camping" 09/28/12
I've used these for camping, but have found even more uses for them. When I'm traveling on my motorcycle I use two of the big ones to carry extra gas and a small one to carry extra oil. They work great, and I've never had one leak.
"Indestructable" 09/24/12
I've owned the 20 oz. version for 15 years and it is still going strong. I've dropped it off ledges, left it in hot places (full and sealed). I've done anything you can do to this bottle and it's been fine. I've recently bought the 11 oz. version only to lessen the weight on short solo trips and do not foresee any problems with this one either. People seem to complain about the cap a lot but I do not see any problem with it. It's slightly more difficult than the old version but i would rather a little complication than a leak in my bag any day.
