The MSR Flex 4 System is a group cook set for four or more campers. The backcountry can be loads of fun with a big group and planning ahead of time for meals will make it all the easier. This system starts with a big old pot, 5.3L to be exact, that is hard-anodized and ready for boiling a whole bunch of water. The smaller pot is 3.2L, non-stick and is a great secondary for heating and stirring the rest of the meal. The two lids allow you to strain liquid without having to drag along an extra item and the Talon™ pot handle prevents burnt hands. Divide the delicious meal between each of the four DeepDish™ plates, and you'll know exactly whose plate is whose, as they're color coded. The Stainless Steel Insulated Mugs are color coded as well, so if Bobby is holding a black plate and drinking out of red mug, you better go trade your coffees.

Top notch compact cook system for 4!I've been camping since I was a kid and have experience with all sorts of cook kits and own several different ones now. This one so far is my favorite. While I can't speak yet to durability long term, I will say that I'm impressed so far with this one. So compact and a complete cooking system for 4 people - especially if you add the flex 4 skillet which also fits completely inside this kit. Even better is that inside of each of the MSR mugs you can fit all sorts of gear - a small dish brush/scraper, wash cloth, micro rocket stove, small container of camp soap, sanitizing tablets - whatever you like. I can even get 4 light my fire sporks inside under the top red plate! I store it in a mesh sack and know that I can grab and go for 4 people - just bring the food! Each of the lids is cool to the touch as well as the handles and all of the lids are great for straining. Plus all of the mugs can double up as bowls if needed and are cool to the lip when drinking coffee. Awesome kit!

HeavyThis is great for car camping and big groups. you can also fit spices into the drinking cups to save space. Also you'll have space enough to fit the skillet into the system. It can be heavy if you brig this kit backpacking.

I bought this for our Fire Company in New York State to use when activated for a State Emergency Firefighting Unit to use when called out of town.
