"Fantastic for hauling." 05/04/12
This product was purchased in conjunction with the Katadyn Vario Water Filter. The filler neck on the dromedary has the same size as a standard Nalgene 32 oz bottle which makes a great combo with the water filter, just screw on the bag and you have plenty of water for camp kitchen, coffee and water in the night. I purchased the 4 liter size which worked out well for 2-3 backpackers in our group. Nothing worse than running out of water on the trail or having to stop and filter water at camp multiple times, this is a real time saver and is not too much extra weight.
"Love it." 02/18/12
I've used the 4L size on backpacking trips in the Adirondacks and White Mountains and have been very pleased with it. It seems very-well constructed and is super durable. It's a great lightweight water carrier that doesn't take up much room when empty and is really useful for lugging water back to base camp. Overall, I think it's a great product and would definitely recommend it.
"Great bag if you don't have to carry it" 02/05/12
We took a couple of these to the California desert and were very pleased with their performance. I would, however, tell you not to underestimate the weight of water on the trail. We had to repack and delegate the bags to one person and we carried their gear.
"Best hydration bag on the market" 01/16/12
I purchased the MSR hydro light bags and the MSR Dromedary bags. I like both styles but favor the Dromedary more. The Dromedary weights just a fraction more but the quality and wear is superior to the lighter MSR bags. Both products are excellent but if you prefer not to worry about being gentle with your hydration bag, I suggest the Dromedary. Also, make sure to get the hydration hose with your Dromedary bag. I use the 2L size Dromedary bag with hydration hose instead lugging around those old Naglene bottles. The Dromedary bag is exceptionally well made and can take a beating on the trail.
"The next best thing to bringing a camel on your trip" 12/28/11
Great way to haul water when you're off the beaten path. Slips into the water pouch in all my packs with ease. Black material keeps sunlight out (no mold growth) and is sturdy enough to sling onto rocks.
"heavy duty water bag" 12/26/11
Different size bags for whatever water carrying purpose you have. I have a 6L that I use at base camp filled up and usualy put between 2 and 4L in it when hiking depending on where the next water is. A very, very durable bag. I have used it as a pillow as well.
"This thing is awesome." 12/21/11
Definitely a useful piece of kit. Great for serious expeditions -- you wont be let down. I took this thing on the back of my bike 500 miles on a tour, never had a problem. Don't hesitate to buy.Smaller is better for these. They get real heavy real quick.
"My Second Bladder" 11/22/11
I have the 2L which is the perfect size to throw into a pack whether your about to go climbing or on any other adventure. The material is extremely durable so you don't need to worry about it getting punctured or torn. It's even good for daily use; people may give you the "you're crazy" or even the "you're weird" look when you drink out of this bad boy while driving. Don't worry though, deep down they really want one of their own.
"Need a durable, flexible water container..the 10L rocks!" 11/04/11
10L MSR Dromedary: For car camping or a base point in your camp to refill this this is durable and sufficient. Hang it from a branch and you have a simple shower, or you could just man up and get in the stream close by. Anyway, no longer do you have to worry about the lid popping off your flimsy plastic gallon water jug and spilling all over your weekend warrior gear. Seriously though, the 10L is not practical for hauling great distances but it rocks for a refill point at base camp. Get a little creative with some beaners and some paracord and make it a backpack. I’ve been tough on it and it’s not shown any signs of ‘fear of failure’ wear.
"Good but not perfect." 09/09/11
These water bags are really convenient, and the three in one nozzle is a nice feature, but they do tend to leave a plasticky taste to your water. I haven't had this problem with my newer nalgene water bags, though I have used my MSR bags a lot more. So it might just be a degradation issue over time.
