Rated 1 out of 5 by from Oh no! What happened??? I purchased several of these a few years ago when they were lined with food grade silicone and they quickly became my absolute go-to favorite piece of gear. But I recently bought another to add to the collection and to my horror they are lined with polyurethane!!!!???? The taste is horrific, and I can only imagine what these chemicals leaching into the water will do to a person. They claim it's food grade, well I'm sorry MSR, that's not good enough. You had a perfect product, why on earth would you change it? I feel totally blindsided and betrayed by one of my most trusted and favorite outdoor gear manufacturers. Not happy, not at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tough and don't leak I have several of these of all three sizes which I use for kayak-packing water into the Everglades. They're easy to use, don't leak; and don't impart flavor to the water. They're very tough, though I think a raccoon could bite through the fabric, so they stay in the secured hatch. Though they don't afford that kind of protection, I have not had a problem with leaks if the caps are screwed on tightly. I have recommended these many times. Being soft, they conform to the inner hull, so take up less room than a plastic water bottle. Packing 10 days worth of water, you need all the storage space you can get.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hauls well in 5 gal bucket with prospecting tools I haul the 6 l bag on trails with a 5 gallon bucket hauler ( hiking in to prospecting claims. It has bumped around over trails in the 5 gal bucket with shovels, and other prospecting tools without a tear. Hangs on tree limbs against rough bark with no trouble. I am 55+, female, with two new hip joints, so I don't carry it in the pack. Rolling it up for the trip back out is a plus, because I can unload more weight off me into the 5 gallon bucket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for climbers Simple, bomber - this can take a surprising amount of abuse, anything short of purposefully attacking it with a crampon. I toss it around with the same abandon I would a Nalgene, I certainly don't treat it as nice as other hydration bladders. It's a lot nicer to carry up a multi-pitch climb in a small pack than a bottle which sits awkwardly and digs into your back. Not to mention it's lighter and more space efficient than a bottle. I have the hose kit that I use sometimes for hikes or trail runs but most often I just use this on its own and sip from it at breaks. It's very versatile.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Indispensable for group backpacking I have two of the 6L DromLite bags and they fantastic for group backpacking trips. We fill both of them when we get to camp and we're set for water for a while. They don't weight much and take very little space when empty and rolled up. The eyelet makes them easy to hang up. I put a small loop of cord in the eyelet so they're easy to hang on a tree branch or clip to something with a carabiner. I recommend getting the spigot cap to go with them to make them a little easier to dispense water from.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stands the test of time I've had the drom-lite since they first came out and it is one of the few pieces of gear that hasn't failed or been replaced by something better. I've added the hydration tube and shower kit to only make it even better. Definitely has a water bag taste, but I have yet to come across a durable bladder that doesn't impart its own flavor to water. Quite simply the most durable and most versatile water storage option available for backcountry travelers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from On again off again I bought two of these bags at the same time. One day into a bikepacking trip in some of the most remote desert in the US, I found that one had developed a leak around one of the seals. I had to under-fill it for the remainder of the trip, which was a bit scary. Tried to warranty it, and MSR has been excellent, but I haven't had a chance to send it in yet. So, at least they'll back it up if anything happens. The other bag, on the other hand, survived and thrived, and because of it, I was able to top off my comrades as they ran dry. So there's good and bad.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Quality, Great Service Had one of these for years and had finished the water in it while backpacking and one of my friends stepped on it in the night. I realized when I filled it the next day that I had a pinhole leak. I loved the bag, its size, 3 different spouts, connectivity to my filter, etc. I emailed MSR to see if they had a patch kit and they just mailed me a new bag, free of charge. Awesome product, awesome service.
