"One badass rugged set of snowshoes" 09/07/10
These snowshoes are great. Light yet rugged, these things have taken a beating and are still in great shape. The crampons have great traction on packed and loose snow and I have had no problem supplementing these for actual crampons when climbing on steep rime ice. The Televator bar is extremely useful when going up extended inclines and prevents muscle fatigue. I used these on numerous multi-day backcountry snowboarding trips and I have no complaints.
"Most versatile snow shoe!!!!!" 06/10/10
I have taken these on several winter ascents of CO 14ers with a 45-55lb pack. The tails are great when breaking trail in deep snow with a heavy pack. When you get to a steep part the Televator lifts make it easier on the calves! When coming back down the MTN or when doing rec snowshoeing, the ability to shorten them is nice. Overall an awesome package!!!
"These are Effin fantastic" 01/14/10
I have been out on these several times now and I love them. I also got the 8" floatation tails with these for deep snow or when I am backpacking and they worked flawlessly. The Televator Heel makes a big difference when going up an incline, I didn't think it would make as much as a difference as it did. Climbing ice was a blast with the Denali's, I felt like spiderman. They are tough and durable.I am very happy with my purchase
"Built for wet Northwest snow" 01/14/10
If you live in the Pacific Northwest, these are the snowshoes to get! Solid toe crapons, as well as metal side crampons running the length of the shoe allow for purchase going both up and down, as well as traversing on our wet and icy snowpack. The heel elevator is a must have feature for any gains in elevation, saving a ton of calf muscle burnout. For our rare powder days, floatation tails are available to extend the deck on these shoes by 4" or 8". That said, I've never needed to actually use them. I mean really, who snowshoes on a powder day up here anyways?
"The name says it all!" 01/13/08
Had mine for a week now and they are amazing. Superb all-terrain traction. The bindings are secure and take a couple uses to get used to. The televator heel is a pretty cool feature, but unless you plan to use the televator heel for a sustained amount of time, avoid activating it, its a bit difficult to release.
"Awesome, my best buddy is buying a pair now." 01/28/07
So, here is my most in-depth review. I struggled with my decision of which snowshoe to purchase. Some say go with plastic, some do not. I couldn't really demo them at all before purchase because of the weather here, but I went with these and made the right decision. They are pretty light, super durable and can be modded for super deep or super powdery snow with the tails. If you are pondering these, I don't think you will be dissappointed at all. The straps are easy to use and you can do it with gloves on.They bite well into icy and steep conditions. They are great.
"I suggest these to anyone looking for an awesome pair of shoes who does a decent amount of uphill!" 10/27/06
These are a great pair of shoes!! I climb the 46 high peaks in the adirondacks in the winter and these shoes are great for steep terrain. They are also good on everytype of snow exept soft. But you can buy the tails and you never have to have multiple pairs of shoes
