MSR Carbon Reflex 1 Person Tent is an ultralight 3-season tent that packs up small and is always ready to go. Sporting carbon fiber poles and 20D ripstop nylon fly, this puppy weighs in at a slight 2lb 9oz (packed weight) and packs down incredibly small. At 7ft long, this is an ideal choice for taller hikers (being a taller hiker, I know the pains of tent selection). If bugs aren't a huge factor, you can set this up fast-pitch style with just the fly and footprint to cut down on even more weight. Every ounce counts, and the Carbon Reflex 1 takes full advantage of every ounce.

worth every centI was very hesitant to spend so much on a tent. I only go on maybe 4 or 5 camping trips a year, but it was more than worth it! Significantly lighter than any other tent I've ever used or even camped near. Helps when you're trying to push the hike before setting up camp. Set up is a no brainer. Literally one pole, several hooks, and 5 stakes. The very first night I set up was in the rain and I was inside and dry in about 5 minutes. I'm 5'2-5'3 and there's enough room at the foot for my pack and nothing else. I can obviously turn over while lying down but can't roll to one side at all. Definitely no way possible for two folks. If you feel cramped easily--spring for the 2 person version, even if it will only be you. There are two mesh pockets on the inside for small objects but not enough storage for my likes--thinking about going for the universal gear shelf. All in all, great for a simple no bells and whistles light as possible backpacking tent.
