The MSR AutoFlow Gravity Filter Replacement Cartridge is a replacement for the AutoFlow Gravity Filter. When you're out in the backcountry, you must be prepared to filter your water and when your gunked up old one starts slowing the flow it can be a real dampener on the camp. Toss the worn out cartridge before you head out on the next trip and hook up this replacement for fast and fresh filtered water at the camp.
FEATURES of the MSR AutoFlow Gravity Filter Replacement Cartridge

Requires frequent backflushingI use the AutoFlow gravity filter so that I can be filtering my water while I'm setting up camp instead of bending over a pump and laboring until I have the water I need. There is a procedure for backflushing the filter in the field. However, the filter cartridge can still become clogged. I recommend carrying purification tablets as a backup, a measure that saved my last trip when the flow through the cartridge slowed to the point that it took an hour to get all of my water treated.
I'll need to get a new cartridge periodically, a measure that is worth the effort for the results that the AutoFlow produces.

Clean water everywhereIt is been 4 years since I bought the Autoflow and I use it at least twice a year in remote areas and it never let me down. I filter my water when I am setting up camp and when I am packing for another day of hicking. It is a great buy because of all the effortless drinkable water it provides.

LightJust got this filter after we went backpacking and the old model was filtering our water a drop at a time. This filter is a lot lighter than the older model and hopefully lasts us longer too. We had used the older filter about 3 or 4 trips before it stopped working.
