The MSR Alpine 4 Pot Set is a group pot set for camping and guiding with four or more people. The pots are made from stainless steel, super durable for extreme conditions and handing off from person to person. You know inevitably one will take a tumble to the ground and it certainly has to hold up to a bump and bruise. The three pots are all different sizes, 1L, 2L, and 3L so you can choose which is right for the meal and they all nest inside each other for easy packing. Each pot includes it's own lid to keep things warm inside and the single PotHandler™ works with all three. The included stuff sack keeps everything together and clean when not in use.

RecommendedThis set is not the lightest option available, but I have zero complaints. I have another pot set that backs this one up, and we use two stoves so we can cook a full meal for my family of four all at once instead of making one dish followed by another - keeps the kids happy. Nests very nicely inside my camp pack, and I keep small containers of seasoning plus some cleaning supplies inside the smallest pot. My MSR Whisperlite International won't fit inside though.

Great Pot Set for Car Camping or Institutional UseBecause I don't backpack, I'm not especially concerned about the weight of these stainless steel pots. This set covers the sizes that cook groups from 1-5 people might need for mixing ingredients, to boiling water for hot drinks, to cooking a pound of pasta. Because the pots are stainless steel, they're durable in the sense of being able to take some knocks and in the sense of being able to be cleaned with force. There's value in the latter. Light pots with coating need to be cleaned gently, which is a problem if a meal got scorched. Stainless steel pots like these clean up easily during trips (you can scour them clean in the surf) or at home (in the dishwasher or with SOS pads). I use these pots whenever I take groups out on trips, and then I ditch the large pot when I use them on my own. I will say that I never use the lids as fry-pans. In my experience, the best fry pans are Banks Fry-Bake pans (frybake.com). Stock them Moosejaw.
