The MSR Alpine 4 Pot Set is a group pot set for camping and guiding with four or more people. The pots are made from stainless steel, super durable for extreme conditions and handing off from person to person. You know inevitably one will take a tumble to the ground and it certainly has to hold up to a bump and bruise. Rated 5 out of 5 by from When I bought this kit as a replacement to the hand me down no name brand, I was excited about being able to cook on stainless at the site just like home. We are a family of 4 that base camps about 4-5 times a year for up to 3 days at a time. This cook set has come in handy from breakfast with eggs and bacon, to pasta and sauce. Heats up quick, no waiting like the cheap stuff. Kit cleans up well with soap and water and before I store after drying I wipe down the insides with coconut oil to be ready for the next meal. The handle is supper sturdy and easy to operate. I have used this set on top of Coleman propane stove, camp fire grill, Jetboil.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from excellent with one caveat I really have enjoyed using this cook set. I am not a big fan of teflon coated cookware as I know I'm slowly ingesting the teflon as it starts to peel. These pots are fairly lightweight, hold up to heavy use and are well manufactured. My only issue is I really wish they had some sort of handle on the lid. they have a tab which can be used to lift the lid off while cooking but when you have boiled pasta and you want to strain the water out, its a bit tricky. I have resorted to using the pot holder to tip the pot and my leatherman to try and hold the lid on so the pasta doesn't come pouring out. I kinda like the small fold away handle on my other msr cook set.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rugged Backcountry Pot Set Thesent pots are extremely rugged and are Great when at base camp, in your backcountry backpack, car camping or when a rugged snow melting pot set is needed. The pots and lids nest together for easy transport and with the different pot sizes you can take as many or as few as you require on your trip. I've used on stoves and fire grills as well as on open fires and the pots and lids along with the pot gripper function very well. The lids can be used as fry pans. I would definitely recommend this pot set to anyone needed a more rugged long lasting pot set especially if you have varying group sizes and have snow melting needs in the backcountry. A proven long time performer in the MSR product line.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Recommended This set is not the lightest option available, but I have zero complaints. I have another pot set that backs this one up, and we use two stoves so we can cook a full meal for my family of four all at once instead of making one dish followed by another - keeps the kids happy. Nests very nicely inside my camp pack, and I keep small containers of seasoning plus some cleaning supplies inside the smallest pot. My MSR Whisperlite International won't fit inside though.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Car Camping set I have been using this set a lot this year since I bought it in the spring. It greatly reduces the bulk of the old pots/pans I carried around in my car camping box. One small improvement would be 2 cups could fit inside the small pot. I can only manage to fit one cup and pot holder inside the small pot. Durability is second to none, it's great to have something that I don't worry about scratching, denting, etc.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Pot Set for Car Camping or Institutional Use Because I don't backpack, I'm not especially concerned about the weight of these stainless steel pots. This set covers the sizes that cook groups from 1-5 people might need for mixing ingredients, to boiling water for hot drinks, to cooking a pound of pasta. Because the pots are stainless steel, they're durable in the sense of being able to take some knocks and in the sense of being able to be cleaned with force. There's value in the latter. Light pots with coating need to be cleaned gently, which is a problem if a meal got scorched. Stainless steel pots like these clean up easily during trips (you can scour them clean in the surf) or at home (in the dishwasher or with SOS pads). I use these pots whenever I take groups out on trips, and then I ditch the large pot when I use them on my own. I will say that I never use the lids as fry-pans. In my experience, the best fry pans are Banks Fry-Bake pans ( Stock them Moosejaw.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything in one kit, Sturdy, functional I had this kit on a backpack trip with 3 of my boys and one of my daughters, now all adults, and once again wore the mantle of master outdoorsman. With 7 participants in the outing, this kit provided plenty of room for large meal preparations. So much so, that it inspired two purchases from them for their own backpacking when dad's not around.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Go-to pot set I've had this set for years. It is absolutely bomber. While it is not the lightest set out there (it is stainless steel, after all), it is not significantly heavier; and it can take a beating. I've used it for both summer and winter backcountry trips and am thoroughly pleased. The lids double as plates or pans as well.

will the alpine fry pan fit inside the 4 pot set?

Asked by: mike
Hey Mike, The Alpine Fry Pan nests nicely in the bottom of the 3L pot. The pots still all fit together with the fry pan inside, too. I hope this helps!
