Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saved my knees I bought a pair of Talus TR3 poles (along with baskets for snow) to use primarily for snowshoeing. However, they really became important 6 months later, in August of 2015 when I was backpacking in Oregon's 3 Sisters area. In July I had strained my MCL, but by the time my packing trip came along, I figured the injury was healed. Boy was I wrong. A couple miles into the trek, my knee started hurting badly, so I pulled my Talus 3 poles off my pack and started using them. Where these poles really shone was in their ability to keep my 220 lb body + 65 lb pack stable on uneven ground. These poles are tough. They made the difference between continuing my trip and turning around to go home. They were well worth every penny spent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very sturdy, multiple uses (MRS adjustable poles) I have several of the MSR Tent accessories. I use these poles primarily on the outfitter tarp and its smaller sister. These were part of the old base camp tarps. They add a lot more strength to the tarps and greatly increase the usable area. Since they are adjustable they compensate for undulations in the ground and can be adjusted for changing weather conditions. I find them very sturdy and they are an attractive addition to the tarps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid, good looking and I LOVE the guide line! Great quality, nice looking and with the perfect detail; a black line along the inner pole so that you easily can can follow the lock in position! My 4 foot poles extens to about 140 cm or about 4,6 feet and that is a perfect height when using the Thru-Hiker Wing & Mesh House together! I travel by offroad motorcycle, so therefore I don´t have any walking poles and therefore these come in very handy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great buy I bought the Talus TR-3 Hiking Poles for the Rim to Rim hike. These Poles are nice, I like the easy adjustability, light weight and sturdy construction. They are also very comfortable in my hands throughout the hiking, both up hill and down hill. Super happy great hiking poles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply Awesome I was looking around for a decent pole to use for pitching up the tarp when no trees are around. As I don't use trekking poles it had to be light and compact. Have to say that the MSR one met all my expectations. I'm probably going to buy another one.

How much does the pole weigh and what is the packed length?

Asked by: Scott
Thanks for the question! I physically weighed and measured these poles for you. The 4 ft option weighs 13.4 ounces, and has a packed length of 16.75 inches. The 8 ft option weighs 22 ounces, and has a packed length of 29.75 inches. Hope this helps!
