The MHM Salute 34 is a serious innovator in the world of packs. It's an "every-panel loader"; that means it has a zipper that covers the pack in an "S" shape and makes it so you can access any part of your pack at any time. No more furious unpacking in a desperate attempt to recover your lost beef jerky. The Salute can also zip entirely open into a ground mat. How cool is that? An M-Flex frame system and acclaimed VariCant dual-pivoting hipbelt make it possible to stay balanced and supported all day. With durable Cordura fabrics, tons of pockets, and the included deployable rainfly, it will take your best effort to be as hard-core as this pack.

Simply Amazeballs.Had never heard of it. Then saw it. Now I own one.
This small company was started by young, innovative, backcountry enthusiasts in 2009. They make some beautifully designed, solidly built packs that contemplate seemingly every possible philosophy of use.
I'm not lobbying for a marketing position. I just love their stuff.
This is a true do-everything back, from the alpine to the trail to the subway and back.

A pack I trustI have been reluctant to buy a new pack for over 10 years. From my time as a mountain guide in Colorado as well as my six years in the infantry community of the USMC, the only pack that has earned my respect and trust has been my Dana Design... Until now.,,,,This pack is everything you want in a day pack. Easy access to the top and bottom of the pack, clean design for straps and gear pouch on the outside and overall good feel on your back.,,,,I am 6 ft tall and 200 lbs and this pack fits secure and comfortably on my back. The suspension system allows for great airflow on your back to avoid over sweating and the hip pivot in the belt allows me to move fast with comfort.,,,,It is very refreshing that a new company is taking the day pack seriously rather than putting a flimsy product on the market.

Fun pack.Lots of handy little features that I am still finding out about four months later. I bought this one to keep my climbing stuff in and I really like it so far. It's easy to keep everything organized because of the differently-shaped pockets. Not to mention that it is a really cool looking pack! I wouldn't say that it's the best pack out there, but it's pretty damn good.

This Replaced my Marmot Talus 36While traveling in Central America, my Marmot Talus 36 Daypack was stolen. That pack rocked. Small enough to carry on a plane yet didn't feel big when fully loaded. It had several external pockets and plenty of other pockets to accommodate a plethora of different sized gear. I was bummed to learn that it had been discontinued.,,,,I'll cut to the chase, this MHM Salute pack is the closest thing I could find that had all the same features. This pack has exceeded my expectations. We don't do hiking or climbing excursions, but we do travel frequently. I didn't want a top load, draw string type top but wanted eternal pockets.....the snake zipper is an awesome feature! You can access any area of the pack and not disturb other items inside. I also needed it to carry a laptop....now there is no "laptop sleeve" but my 13" laptop fits in the hydration sleeve. ,,,,I couldn't have asked for a better replacement!,,,,I only wish the waist strap was removable.

Great quality awesome designI got this bag for a day pack for climbing. Zipping up can be a slight hassle but overall great quality and design. I really like that it unzips flat. Good support system. Fairly wide range of adjusting allowed so it fits better; which i found great since I am a little on the small side. It gets my stamp of approval.

Epic Day Pack!Awesome day pack (you could probably use it as an overnight pack too if you are an efficient packer). Love the S zipper which you can open from the bottom, middle or top depending on what you need and your preference. It has two waterproof pockets on the inside of the S which is quite convenient and easy to access. The bottom has a rainfly which is handy if it starts to pour, but I didn't use it on my last hike which had a steady rainfall for at least an hour and the pack stayed pretty much dry. I have broad shoulders so it is always a risk for me buying packs but the MHM packs haven't let me down being adjustable and fitting very comfortably for me (they also fit skinnier people as my brother owns both the Salute and the Divide as well and he is about half my weight... lol).
Definitely recommended. I can't wait to try this guy out on some winter day hikes this year!! So far it has been amazing for my day hikes (not to mention it is one attractive looking pack!).

Best Daypack on the Market!I needed a pack that could carry everything i needed, keep it organized, and be quick to access it. I searched all around and the competetors were either too big or too small, or if they were the around this size they were only top loaders or the zippers didn't seem sturdy enough. I was left using a normal school backpack with a lot of carabeiners attached to it to keep my gear organized. Finally I ordered myself a Salute and can't say enough about it. Being an outdoor guide for a summer camp where down time is a really bad thing, digging through my pack for gear is unacceptable. The Salute has crazy heavy zippers that I don't have to worry about breaking and the Snake-loader system is a lifesaver getting to where-ever that one piece of gear is in my pack. I can carry enough gear to lifeguard, then switch to high ropes, then back to dressing as a pirate to teach rafting skills. My pack is literally the envy of all the other guides. I really haven't found anything wrong with it.

Awesome crag bag!I've been using this pack for about a month now and I have to say I love it. Besides the color just being awesome, I really like the thought that went into designing it. The zipper is an "S" shape that runs the length of the pack so I have the option of using it as a top open pack or I can unzip it fully to have access to all of my climbing gear. All of the side straps can be tucked away, preventing snagging or just to make it look neat and tidy. The BEST feature, in my opinion, is the hip belt. It swivels up and down so that as I move it moves. Imagine that, a hip belt that moves with me. This feature makes it super comfortable. The pack has a top handle which makes moving it around the crag easier and an outside open stretchy pouch which stores my helmet for easy access (bonus: the helmet doesn't take up room inside my pack). This pack is perfect for a day of cragging. At 22 liters it won't be my go to pack when I'm trad climbing or guiding, but I really like this pack for everyday use.
