If you haven't heard of GORE-TEX by now, you've probably been living under a rock. And that would make sense, because living under a rock is probably the only place where you wouldn't need the durable waterproof and windproof protection that GORE-TEX fabrics offer. So when you're ready to venture out from under your rock, arm yourself with the comfortable protection of GORE-TEX.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from not worth the money These are really comfortable right out of the box and I was very excited to try them, but apparently that comfort was deceptive. I found that these shoes weigh quite a bit and I can feel them on my feet and they also give me several hot spots. The weight is probably better suited for backpacking but I find it annoying on regular day hikes. These shoes also have durability issues. After only a handful of hikes in the whites, the leather started separating from the rubber on the front and it got so bad Lowa actually replaced my boots. The suede itself also soon had big chunks taken out of it. For the price I am not impressed with these

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These are the best boots I have ever owned and well worth the money. I have a narrow heel, a high arch and navicular (sorry, I taught anatomy), and my toes spread out. These boots fit perfectly and I don't even notice that I'm wearing them. Never a blister or hot spot---ever! These boots are light weight and after 5, going on 6, years they are still waterproof and holding up great! I hike regularly several times every month (3 to 10 miles). I told two of my hiking friends with similar feet about these boots. They bought them and love them as much as I do. Ya, they are expensive, but in the long run you will pay a lot less with these boots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best hiking boots ever... of all time These boots are amazing! I am so excited that Moosejaw started carrying them (and in different colors!). I bought a pair of Lowa women's Renegade boots 7 years ago and they are only just now at the point where I should think of replacing them. Really, the only reason they are starting to wear down is because I didn't take good care of the leather the first couple years (sorry boots, I still love you!). They have been through hundreds of hikes in all sorts of hiking conditions and have never let me down! BUY THESE BOOTS!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ankle support to booot. Love these. Moosejaw employee helped me pick them out in store. I needed ankle support and arch support (I have crazy high arches) and these are great. Haven't gotten a blister and i've hiked high altitude, snow, long distances, etc.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Truly waterproof I have been wearing these for a few weeks in the fields and forests of our land. My feet have stayed dry even after slogging through rain and heavy dew. They were comfortable from the git/go. However, I have very narrow feet and although size 7N is a good length, I still have to put on extra heavy socks or a second pair of socks to get the width correct.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE these boots!!!! Love love love these boots!! I've hiked 100s and 100s of miles in these boots and they still keep my feet as comfy as my slippers... well not quite... but they are some seriously comfortable boots!! Just wish Moosejaw would carry them in the violet color... I'm looking for a second pair of these boots and that would make me pull the trigger!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Boot This my second pair of Renegade's. I bought my second pair of these when my first pair went in holes. They are super comfortable and the waterproofing works well. I have a narrow foot and this is one of the few boots that fits my foot without making me feel like I'm wearing boats. They aren't super heavy either.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst boots I've ever owned, and I've owned a lot! I work as a trail worker and trial crew cook, and I've been through a fair number of boots. I have long narrow feet and finding the right size usually means a special order. But my size is very consistently 9.5 narrow--I usually order Asolo or Vasque boots, which are both known to fit narrow feet well. I ordered these boots in that size, and I should have known as soon as I put them on that they were not narrow enough, despite all the "these are so great for narrow feet!" reviews. My heel slips consistently and blistering has been a major problem, while the toe box is actually a bit narrow and I get pinky toe blisters from my toes being mashed together. While these boots are amazingly waterproof, they do not breathe at all. Really, not at all. My socks are wet through with sweat within 30 minutes of hiking and honestly, I just can't switch socks often enough to keep them dry. Bad fit, bad breathability, not comfortable at all. Look elsewhere, especially if you have narrow feet.
