Good basic leather hiking boot.Very nice leather, non-waterproof boot. The best part is the glove leather lining. Breathes well, comfortable and molds to your feet. Boot does take some break in time. Not all that light by today's standards but worked well for last three seasons in the sierras. Used for packing in with 25 lbs. or less and class 1-3 climbing on sand, gravel, boulders and scree. I clean and wax the boot at the beginning of the season and so far kept dry through snow and afternoon rain showers. Size seems a little small for me, I usually wear 12s in Vans, etc, but needed 13 here with standard hiking socks. A good basic boot with a quality European build.

Comfortable out of the box, but...This is my second pair of Lowa Renegades. I really like the out of the box comfort of these boots. On the otherhand, both pairs haven't lasted more than 20 miles on the trail. My first pair was seperating on the toe. This particular pair lasted 16 miles total before the sole separated on one boot (see pic). I will be looking elsewhere for a more durable pair of hiking boots in the future.
