Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent but sometimes leaky all you need to know is that it works. this has made traveling so much easier and lighter, and now i don't have to lug a half gallon of water around with me when i'm hiking. ,,,,i do wish lifestraw would team up with an established water bottle company like kor or camelbak so we could get some more colors and nicer/more convenient designs. ,,,,one warning: watch the youtube instructions for lifestraw use. you have to blow back through the lifestraw after you're done drinking in order to empty the filter of water. if you don't, the water that's inside the straw will leak out when the bottle isn't perfectly upright.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor design I bought two of these, one for myself and one as a gift, very excited by the idea of such a bottle. Poor design in that you have to open the lid and blow out water in straw EVERY time you take a sip. If you don't, your next drink will be of unfiltered/contaminated water. After showing my bottle, and its flaw, to the intended recipipient of the second bottle, I offered to return it as it was not a good gift. Unfortunately I have to eat 7 bucks in shipping and am stuck with my own bottle as it is used and thus nonreturnable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I live somewhere with no Fresh Water I took this water bottle with me to South America where I am now living. I live in a very rural community and can't seem to trust the water...I have gotten sick one too many times without my lifestraw water bottle. Seriously a life saver and you need this if you are traveling or living in a place without a trusted water filtration system!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect We plan to take this bottle on a 2 day hike through Shenandoah national park. I know there will be falls where we are hiking so instead of packing tons of water and weighing down our packs, we each bought one of these babies so we can just fill'er up when we run out and not have to worry about tummy aches. It's a decent size and fits right into the bottle pocket of my northface pack. I do wish there was an indicator of some sort when the filter needs to be changed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK for camping, emergency, etc but not casual everyday use I drink a LOT of water every day so I was looking for a good solution to save me some money in the long run vs. constantly buying gallons and gallons of spring water all the time. I read great reviews about this product so wanted to give it a shot. Well, the bottle arrived and I was excited to try it out. I went through the filter activation process etc. and followed the instructions but the first few fill ups from my faucet at home had a very strong chemical taste to it. I read that this is typical and would go away after some use, so I kept using it for a bit longer. The taste never got any better and it got to the point where I couldn't drink out of it any longer. If I was out in the middle of the woods with no clean water the taste probably wouldn't bother me as much, but if I have the option of regular bottled water or this LifeStraw Go bottle, I'd take the bottled water ANY day. Great concept but really geared more towards situations where you NEED water, not want water.
