"A superior tool, well thought out design, superior materials" 01/11/11
Ok, I'm a worn out senior bad knees independent fully functioning outdoor and urban geek. I've owned a pair for two years. The light weight, 16 ounces, makes a huge difference in the long run...you can quickly swing into the most effective angles and the wrist-hand attachment is very well thought out. They fold down for traveling and have a low profile which is good for urban use.The tips are very strong, haven't corroded after two years of daily use in both urban and outdoor settings. ..I took them to a physical rehab place and the staff were very interested in them wrote down all the Leki info
"Great, light poles!" 10/24/10
I do most of my backpacking on moderate to difficult trails in the backcountry--RMNP, Smokey's, etc. carrying a load of 25-35 lbs for several days at a time. For a few years I carried the heavy-duty (and heavier) 'backpacking' poles but someone lent me their 'walking' poles and I was hooked. I love having significantly less weight in my hands, the easier swing of the poles, and still have the security of a pole should I stumble and to keep my cadence. I use these in serious backcountry crossing streams, etc and have found them to be more than enough. Great product!
"Very nice, even though the “German poles” have a made in China sticker on them." 04/22/10
Before I figured out what Nordic Walking was, I have for years used shortened cross-country ski poles (sans snow-baskets) to “pole-walk/run” the ski trails before the snow arrived and after it melted --- functional, but limited in versatility off the ski trails. The Leki adjustable poles with multi-fit hand straps, selection of pavement walking tips and basket options make them a comfortable and versatile pole. I was afraid the two-piece adjustable poles would rattle and the adjustment slip on uphill runs, but they are quiet and solid. Very nice poles.
