  • Aergon Cor-Tec grip. 80% natural ground cork, 20% plastic for long term comfort and wear

If the product name has the word "pair" in it, that means it comes with TWO trekking poles. If the product name says "single" or has options to select a size, it means that particular style only comes with ONE trekking pole. Sorry to be so confusing. Please don't hate me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Met all criteria! Recently, I was shopping at a local sports store. I went there to purchase trekking poles as I had tried a friend's poles and I liked them. I was advised to purchase LEKI trekking poles with cork handles, telescoping poles with shock absorption. This LEKI product met all criteria. I have not experienced "slippage" in the poles b/c I secure them correctly. I did purchase pole tips for city trekking. I am enjoying these trekking poles immensely. If you want to spoil yourself, buy a pair of cycling gloves. Go to YouTube for trekking lessons if you need them. I have already recommended these poles to another friend.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Damaged, maybe better luck next time I was super excited to use these, but when I was hiking I couldn't get the twisting mechanism to work. The twisting mechanism lets you change the height of the pole. As I was walking I lost half of the pole because the pole would not tighten. Good thing my friends saw it. It was able to tighten once, but during the course of the walk I had to retighten and adjust though the whole entire hike...I gave up using them. Thank goodness for Moosejaw's return policy. I returned them and my fiancé purchased another brand for me. Hope you don't get a defective one like I did.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from "the goggles, they do nothing" -Ranier Wolfcastle Well the shocks, actually, are what do nothing for my particular needs. Awesome poles IF you are using them for trekking or moderate trail running. However, I wanted to replace my old Makalu anti-shock poles, and use these for some shock absorption on steep, fast, rocky technical descents, to ease the punishment on my wrists, elbows and shoulders that adds up on super long runs. I am a slow runner but I have a predilection for really letting the muscles go limp and bombing the downhills,a la runaway train with cut brakes. For that, these shocks help 0.00. Less than 1/2 the travel of the old ones and less than 1/2 the spring tension, so I had to send these back. Got the BD Distance Carbon fixed length poles and used them to great benefit at a 50 K with 11,000 feet of climbing (+ the same descending). The carbon seems to have some mild degree of shock absorption, but nothing like the old Makalus. Of note, the new Makalu anti-shock poles have this same baby shock, checked with Leki customer service. Leki has my respect big time, my Makalu anti-shock poles are probably >10 years old and have been through wars, their stuff is real European engineering and craftsmanship. However, alongside that, to not to add rubber tips is quite low class. A detail yes, but a poor strategic calculation in so far as customer loyalty and morale none the less. Leki should market a burly anti-shock pole to get into the niche of big mountain/technical trail running. Again though, for any other activity this is a very light and very well engineered pole with great grips that should last more than a decade with proper use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My lekis These are a replacement for my worn out Makalus. The only very small complaint would be the distance of the anti shock. The distance of anti shock for the Makalus 1 1/8" compared to 3/8" for the the corklites. I think the anti shock on these are pretty much useless. But they are very sturdy, light and strong. If buying another pair I would probably skip the anti shock.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sticks This is my second set of hiking poles from Leki. The first ones are over 20 years old and survived many miles, including the AT. This newer lighter pair will help me to conquer the PCT.
