Rated 5 out of 5 by from way cool pocket tool This thing is versatile. There may be things it can't do, but I haven't found them yet. It has a good size knife. The saw was useful for clearing out small branches/twigs when I had to find somewhere pronto to set up the tent due to a flash hailstorm. There were sharp tent-killing pieces of wood everywhere, but this helped prune them back. I know, not quite Leave-no-trace camping, but I wanted to stay dry. For backpacking, it is a bit heavy, so consider a lighter weight product, maybe their new skeletool.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Has everything one needs, yet can be heavey for walking-backpack. This multi-tool is great, it comes with good sharp knifes. It also comes with a detached knife sharper. The only problem you need some levereg-help when it comes to can opener. It's kinda hard for the finger to get out. I used nearly all the options it has to offer. Truely recomened thought- no need to take advice for tool fans bike recreation. As for backpacker, it's HEAVEY..!! Yes it comes with a sleath holder.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Used in the army, Africa, and day to day. It still works great! I have used this thing to prune an entire peach tree in Africa. I used it in the Army for everything from making adjustments to my equipment, to breaking in to a file cabinet. It is also nice to have around the house. I can complete almost all jobs with this. And the best thing about it... the knife blade comes out quick when needed for self-defense. ;) Use it wisely!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everyone Needs This Tool I have been using Leathermen for years, and they are by far the perfect tools. I used to only take them camping and fishing, but now take them with me all the time. The extra bit kit can be ordered to help with the screw driver as well. This tool provides me with all that I need in without carrying around lots of extras. Well worth the price tag!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from THE best multi-tool, hands down If you're shopping for a multi-tool, just shell out the $90 or so and get the Leatherman Surge. You won't regret it. It's seriously heavy-duty, and the only time I'm not wearing one on my belt is those odd occasions when I need to put a tie and dress pants on. If I was going to wear a suit all day, I'd probably still keep it on my belt.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A true generalist, does everything okay, but nothing great This is the perfect tool to carry when you don't know what you'll need. It has the capability to do anything, but it's not great for doing anything. For example you could use it as a screwdriver for short bursts, but the offset bit makes it much more time consuming than a regular screwdriver.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't be beat What more can you say really? It's a Leatherman. It's super-sturdy, has everything you need all in one. I take this with me just about everywhere I go. I keep it in my car. I take it backpacking. The locks on the knives help to keep them from coming out at inopportune moments. Rad multi-tool

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Heavy duty This is a quality multi knife that I have owned for more than 2 yrs. I went fishing with it and use many times fixing from small to med task at home. The wrench is very useful even though most of us overlook that part.,,,,highly recommended,
