"Awesome trail shoes" 02/28/13
I've been a fan of the La Sportiva Fireblade for years, so when that shoe was discontinued I had to find a new shoe. This one fits everything I need for the thousands of miles I run each year. It has a wide toe box, which is great for wide feet and/or those with bunions. These are a bit wider than the La Sportiva Raptor. They are stiff and the sticky rubber makes sure your foot stays where it's planted on rocky, sandy, crappy terrain. As a bonus, they're excellent on packed snow in the winter. Giddy up.
"Needs Longer Tongue" 03/27/11
The toe box is wide and deep and allows ascents to be pain free because of adequate space for toe movement. The support is excellent for keeping your foot aligned and upright over obstacles like roots, logs, or rocks. The sole grabs in the mud, dirt, grass and leaves to feel like you're effortless through the rough stuff. IN fact, the traction is so profound, I felt much more sore in my hams, quads, and calves because the more stable the shoe, the more muscle can be recruited to perform through the obstacles of off road. Plenty of cushion for the little bit of road running I do. CON: The tongue slips into the body of the shoe if the laces aren't tight enough.

"Awesome shoe" 12/30/10
I actually own the mens version of this shoe and think they are perfect for any long hikes or getting the the crag. Very comfortable, light and tight on the foot due to the elastic band inside. My mom liked mine so much she made me order her a pair. Needless to say she has the same opinion of the shoe.
"The worst La Sportiva ever" 11/01/09
Usually La Sportiva is our first choice of trail running, hiking and backpacking footwear. This shoes proved to be unsuitable for running and even for easy hiking. Wearing this shoes my wife twisted her ankles so often we had to literally cancel our day hike and drive to the nearest store return them.
"Felt LIke I was Running In Hiking Boots." 04/22/09
I wanted to get a pair of trail shoes that had lots of grip so that I would not bite it when I went trail running. Adjusting to the additional weight of the shoes was pretty challenging. However, in addition to the shoe being heavy it also aggresively twisted my foot back upright with every step that I took. I could feel my ankle and my hip being torqued in a way that I had never before experienced with my Asics. On the plus side they are very sticky. I was very sure of my footing and there was no sliding around on the loose dirt. I ended up returning these shoes and I am going to try out the Salomon Wings. Hopefully they will provide a smoother ride.
