"don't leave home without them" |
06/08/09 |
| Great all around shoe. Doesn't slip (I have somewhat narrow feet and Sportivas generally fit me well), and are adept at keeping you on small features or on overhanging routes. I don't use these as much for ledgey areas however. | |

"Light and grippy - there are two models of this shoe" |
05/26/09 |
| I'm a guy. I bought these because the women's model has lower volume on the inside, so it's better for narrower feet. These are also much lighter than a lot of other shoes on the market. There are two versions of this shoe; the newer one employs Vibram XSV, which is slightly stickier and softer; the older model uses Vibram XS, which is relatively durable and harder. The latter is better for edging the former for smearing. You can tell which is which by reading the little Vibram logos embossed in the sole. You can also tell by the La Sportiva logos on the side: the newer models say "La Sportiva" the older ones use a boot symbol for the "L" in "La." Both models are easy to find. | |

"Great shoe - use it all the time!" |
05/26/09 |
| The Women's Katana is a great shoe, the low volume heel and narrower toe box (compared to the 'men's' version) makes this shoe fantastic! There was some small stretching but not much- at least for me anyway. I bought a second pair because I can't go without them while my other pair gets resoled:) | |

"Great Shoe, but runs large" |
05/19/09 |
| I've climbed in a friend's Katanas for a while, and I finally decided to cave and buy them. They smear great and the heel is awesome. I usually wear a 41 in climbing shoes, and my friend's shoes were missing the tags, but she said that seemed about right. Well, they were huge. So buy the shoes, but be sure to size down more than you think you need to. | |

"Amazing climbing shoes!!" |
04/26/09 |
| These climbing shoes have made my climbing experience awesome. I am more confident with climbing now, the shoes make all the difference. I normally wear a size 8-8 1/2 size street shoe but I have a size 7 1/2 in these climbing shoes and my toes are curled just right. And they are easy to get on and off. Quality shoe for the price. | |

"great shoe, even for a dude!" |
03/24/09 |
| I tried these bad boys on at my local gear shop without realizing they were chick shoes. After noticing on the box, i was secure enough with my man hood to carry on with the purchase...online. The good price online helped also. fit: fit my chubby/wide feet quite well. back of the shoe rubbed my achilles a little, nothing major. smearing: good smearing. slight downturn toe means you gotta pay attention to the smear. edging: great edging heal/toe hooks: great hooking no slippage off my heel. bottom line: this shoe fits and performs very well. | |

"I love these shoes." |
03/16/09 |
| These shoes are high performing and fit my feet like a glove. I'm on my second pair of Katanas and I love them. I was hesitant about the velcro at first, but it really makes taking them on/off easy. I wear a US W 8.5-9 in street shoes and wear 38 Katanas. | |

"Strong enough for a woman, but pretty enough for a man" |
02/27/09 |
| Yep, I'm a dude and I love these shoes. They smear great, edge even better and my only complaint is they could use a bit more rubber on the upper toe for serious toe hooking and camming. I have narrow feet and these certainly are low volume shoes. I previously wore five ten anasazi's and while I think the onyx rubber is a bit sticker, I think fit of shoe is more important. Make sure you shoe fits! Try some on a gear shop! | |

"Climb much? Must have!" |
05/11/08 |
| These shoes are marvelous! They broke in really quickly and aren't terribly uncomfortable when on the ground. I like the color and the velcro makes it easier and faster to put them on and take them off. The double loops on the heel of the shoe also increases the ease of jamming my chubby foot into a climbing shoe. | |

"Buy 'em" |
03/30/08 |
| Umm, great shoe! I tried on a million pair before settling upon these babies. They broke in quite fast and fit like a glove. I mean, any climbing shoe will probably deform your foot somewhat at least it gives me an opportunity to brag and say it's from my sweet climbing shoes and not my high heels. You know what I'm talking about. Buy the shoes. | |

"By far the best climbing shoes I have ever worn!" |
03/27/08 |
| These shoes are the BEST climbing shoes I have ever used! They fit my feet perfectly which makes it so much easier to climb! I usually wear a size 8.5 in women and I got a 39.5 and they are tight, but PERFECT. They are also super comfortable and I've been able to wear them for hours at a time without my feet starting to hurt! I would highly recommend these shoes. I have only used them climbing indoors, but as soon as it warms up I'm looking forward to using them outside. These shoes aren't cheap, but they are absolutely worth every penny! Yay Katana! | |
