The La Sportiva Python Shoe is a Velcro climbing shoe for the multi-purpose climber. The Python performs at the gym, on the rock, and at competitions with a performance fit and high asymmetry. The rubber outsole is a sticky Vibram XS Grip 2, covering the toe and over the heel for hitting the tiniest ledge or locking a heel hook. The leather upper is unlined, providing stretch and lots of sensitivity. The tension strap locks in those with low volume feet for a well fitting slipper. Party at the top.

La Sportiva footwear is built and offered on European half sizes, which are smaller increments than US half sizes. This gives them four extra sizes per size run, and ultimately gives you a better fit.

Please review La Sportiva's size conversion chart above to help determine your ideal size. Below you will find additional information about how to fit and break in the different styles of La Sportiva footwear, which will also help guide you to the correct size.

• As a general rule soft shoes like climbing shoes require a tighter fit, or about two to three sizes smaller than your street shoe size.
• La Sportiva recommends you fit your trad climbing shoes one to two sizes under your street shoe size.
• La Sportiva offers a lot of lasts, and each offers a different fit and feel. Remember to factor in potential stretching.
• Unlined slip-lasted shoes tend to stretch a bit more than lined shoes, or about one full size.
• Lined shoes stretch about a half size.

• PERFORMANCE FIT - offers a high performance fit and a downturned last.
• TECH FIT - a more technical fit and a last with neutral profile.
• COMFORT FIT - a comfortable fit and a last with more volume and a neutral profile.

• Find your US Size in the guide above, then find the Euro Size conversion and add one half size.
• The ideal size holds your toes ever so slightly away from the front of the boot while the lacing system is snug across the top of your arch.
• If you can try to boots on beforehand, make sure you wear the same size and weight socks you would typically wear with the boots, and any orthotics or custom footbeds you use.
• It is ideal to fit boots later in the day since feet are prone to swell slightly as a day progresses.
• Wear your boots indoors only until you are confident about the fit.
• Your foot should feel snug (not tight) from the arch back into the heel pocket with just a minimum lift as you walk. If your heel lifts make sure the lacing is snug and not too loose.
• Your toes should NOT touch the front of the boot, but when you kick the toe into the floor, you should know where the front of the boot is. You want just enough room to wiggle your toes.
• If your toes or sides of your feet feel squished, most likely the width is too narrow and the boot will not work for you.
• If your toes touch the front of the boot, most likely it is too short and you need the next half size up.
• Make sure to keep all original packaging that came with your boots until you are sure that you are happy with your purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The most comfort and performance in one shoe Pros ~ This shoe fits perfectly to my feet, unlike the bulbous heel of the solutions. What this shoe lacks in a downturned toe is easily made up with it's exceptional feel and AMAZING toe-hooking and heel-hooking abilities. A lot of people use this as their gym rat shoe but I've found it to be the perfect fit for many hard boulder problems outside.,,,,Cons ~ Obviously there's no downturned toe so if your not comfortable with a little more flex and a little more strain in your toes this shoe isn't for you. Also, the rubber is thinner then most shoes and that means it wears out quicker. How quick depends on how hard you run them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Great shoe. Super comfortable while still being a high performance shoe. Doesn't have the p3 rand that the solutions do but that also means they get more comfortable quicker. It has alot of rubber and is the perfect gym shoe. Does everything well (though I am not a crack climber). I have top roped 5.12, led 5.11 and bouldered up to v6 in these in the gym and they handled everything. Great heel and awesome edging, but its the leather that gets me every time. After the initial break in period they are just incredibly comfortable. Word of caution..... size down! I wear a 8-8.5 street shoe and have gotten both 37 and 37.5. 37s were pretty tight but great for blundering.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This shoe sticks on the smallest holds period. I used the shoes for the first time yesterday at Paradise on the Brazos. The climbs have smooth Limestone. I love the way this shoe is super flexible to wrap itself around a foot hold that my other 6 pairs of shoes would not. I consider this shoe to be a technical shoe only, and not for multi pitch or a great slab shoe. I purchased in my size 44/10.5 and fits awesome like most of my sportiva shoes. If u r into bouldering i would chose this shoe over the Solution because it fits narrow feet better. It is very easy to take on and off. The rubber is super sticky, as far as i can tell there is none stickier. You can feel holds that you cannot see with this shoe. I give it 9 out of 10 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great shoe for bouldering and overhangs with the best fitting heel of any shoe great comforatuble bouldering shoe snuggest heel I have ever of any shoe I have tried solid even unstraped (most shoes have dead space or are kinda floppy, I have an a very narrow heel) there a soft thin shoe making them sensitive to what your placing your foot on and edges well for such a soft shoe. as far a sizing, size down a lot im a 10 street and wear 7 or 391/2 but might down size a half a size because of the stretch next time. only problem I have with the shoes is the xs edge 2 rubber, its good and sticky but starts rounding off quickly and im not hard on shoes they have lasted 9 months before needing a resole but would prefer just xs edge instead so they keep and edge a bit longer. ,,,,bad ass heel

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A great shoe for the price Having worn the testarossa and solution (la sportivas other high performance, down-turned bouldering shoe), these stand out for three reasons:,,1. The price; they are reasonable not outrageous like the other two.,,2. The rubber on the sole is thinner. This allows for more precise footwork and ability to feel rock. The other two have really thick rubber, which lasts longer but could be the reason your foot keeps blowing.,,3. The heel! The heel isn't that ridiculous cup they put on the other two. It's a narrow strip of rubber (copied from the dragons). This allows for heel-hooking on tiny holds (if you're into that). ,,These shoes are the best thing they have made so far. Size them right since they are a slip on with one strap :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect heel, very sensitive, great fit (for me) I am on my seventh pair of La Sportiva Pythons now, they last me about 4-5 months since I am mostly bouldering in the gym. The shoes themselves are very sensitive and precise (I can stand in the screw whole of foot holds), it is kind of soft and barely has any downturn. I can wear them for hours on end without getting uncomfortable, the shape of the heel is perfect for heel-hooking and the rubber on the toe box is worth its weight in gold for toe hooks. They tend to stretch a bit, I am downsizing from 42.5 street shoe size to 40.5. I have fairly wide feet and the Pythons are the only shoes that really fit (I have been using several different Five Tens before, but I couldn't do a heel hook without the shoes coming off with them).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from soft and sensitive This is my primary gym and bouldering shoe. It is a very soft shoe and really allows the feelings of having talons for feet. The lone velcro strap makes them really easy to put on and take off. Offering you maximum time to rest while you talk about how "ur not feeling it today." They really heel hook well and once broken in excel from slab to steep sport climbing. I would order a size and a half smaller or even one whole size. They really stretch once you break them in. I wear a 40 in the Tessterrossa and a 39.5 in these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Shoe I've Experienced I have had a pair of these since last December and I have worn 2-3 times a week since. I downsized about 2 sizes from my street shoe and they fit great. They suction to your feet so heel hooking is not a problem. The rubber and toe make for anything from holding your wait on a crystal barely sticking out to smearing glass. I've used them for everything; boulderling, sport and trad. Though downsizing like I did makes for a slightly uncomfortable trad route, I would still wear them. I will be resoling mine soon.
