LA SPORTIVA FIT GUIDE and INFO

La Sportiva footwear is built and offered on European half sizes, which are smaller increments than US half sizes. This gives them four extra sizes per size run, and ultimately gives you a better fit.

Please review La Sportiva's size conversion chart above to help determine your ideal size. Below you will find additional information about how to fit and break in the different styles of La Sportiva footwear, which will also help guide you to the correct size.

ROCK CLIMBING SHOES:
• As a general rule soft shoes like climbing shoes require a tighter fit, or about two to three sizes smaller than your street shoe size.
• La Sportiva recommends you fit your trad climbing shoes one to two sizes under your street shoe size.
• La Sportiva offers a lot of lasts, and each offers a different fit and feel. Remember to factor in potential stretching.
• Unlined slip-lasted shoes tend to stretch a bit more than lined shoes, or about one full size.
• Lined shoes stretch about a half size.

ROCK CLIMBING SHOE FIT SYSTEMS:
• PERFORMANCE FIT - offers a high performance fit and a downturned last.
• TECH FIT - a more technical fit and a last with neutral profile.
• COMFORT FIT - a comfortable fit and a last with more volume and a neutral profile.

HIKING, BACKPACKING and MOUNTAINEERING BOOTS:
• Find your US Size in the guide above, then find the Euro Size conversion and add one half size.
• The ideal size holds your toes ever so slightly away from the front of the boot while the lacing system is snug across the top of your arch.
• If you can try to boots on beforehand, make sure you wear the same size and weight socks you would typically wear with the boots, and any orthotics or custom footbeds you use.
• It is ideal to fit boots later in the day since feet are prone to swell slightly as a day progresses.
• Wear your boots indoors only until you are confident about the fit.
• Your foot should feel snug (not tight) from the arch back into the heel pocket with just a minimum lift as you walk. If your heel lifts make sure the lacing is snug and not too loose.
• Your toes should NOT touch the front of the boot, but when you kick the toe into the floor, you should know where the front of the boot is. You want just enough room to wiggle your toes.
• If your toes or sides of your feet feel squished, most likely the width is too narrow and the boot will not work for you.
• If your toes touch the front of the boot, most likely it is too short and you need the next half size up.
• Make sure to keep all original packaging that came with your boots until you are sure that you are happy with your purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Beginner Shoe I purchased a pair of Nagos a while back and after breaking them in (they do stretch) I've found them to be everything I'm looking for. They are remarkably comfortable for a climbing shoe (almost too comfortable) and they still do their job just fine. Comparatively thick rubber, which makes extremely small holds hard to get a really good grip on but not a significant enough problem to be a deal breaker for me. I did not pay full price for these and would not recommend that because there are better shoes out there for $100.,,,,Bottom line: For a seasoned pro, look else where. For a beginner: if they're on sale, definitely buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most comfortable climbing shoe ever! I've been climbing since the first grade and I've always used gym shoes for my occasional bouldering and top-roping needs. Having a pair of climbing shoes that feel good on your feet after six hours of bouldering is just about impossible, unless you have some Nagos. I know that professionals love their hoof-feet but for the normal ones that want to climb and not feel tortured these are the shoes for you! some of my more serious climbing buddies STILL bring their Nagos to the wall just so they can change into them when their feet hurt too much. Just beware, they turn your feet red.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I waisted my money. This was my first pair of climbing shoes. I purchased my second pair of climbing shoes a month and a half later. I suppose if you are looking for an all-around shoe then this isn't a total waist of money but I definitely wouldn't purchase again. A beginner looking for a good pair of shoes that is considering this shoe should look at the Katana or Muira by sportiva. You will spend a little more money but you will have one of the best all-around shoes made. La sportiva no doubt makes the best climbing shoes in the industry but to me these are just OK. [(pros) good price and comfortable], [(cons) red feet, stretch too much, not aggressive at all, no edging, look like a rookie] ,,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for the price. A good beginner's shoe if they fit your feet well. They do stretch a lot. I got mine 1.5 sizes smaller than my street shoe, and they stretched so much that any larger would be too big.,,,,Will beginners be edging on dimes? No. That's not necessary on the vast majority of climbs up to 5.10. Nagos have decent grip and WAY more structure and edging ability than, say a 5.10 Coyote - another entry-level shoe.,,,,If you're the kind of beginner that needs to feel important by buying gear made for advanced practitioners, by all means skip these and go right to Miuras or Katanas. Otherwise you'll fare just fine with the Nagos.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from solid, comfortable shoe at a good price. These are my second pair of climbing shoes and so far I'm very pleased with them. I have fairly wide feet and many shoes I've tried seem best suited for people with narrow feet. The Nagos fit my wide feet well though they could be a tiny bit more snug in the heel. They are comfortable to wear for extended periods but still seem to perform well on 5.10s and 5.11s at the gym. All this and they look sharp as well. All in all, this shoe is definitely one to consider...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shoe and super comfortable too! Did alot of research and really liked the look of these shoes. I bought these one and a half size smaller then my street shoes and have been very pleased. They were super tight but after just a few weeks of wear I am really falling in love with their comfort and feel. The only other thing to keep in mind is if you cant deal with died red feet for weeks then these babies arnt for you! Ferb

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good beginner shoe The perfect shoe for those just starting out rock climbing, very good shoe for a wide toe box with a narrow heel.Fit like a glove from the start and only stretched about half a size which isn't bad.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Average shoe Not a terrible shoe but could be better. It is not very aggressive and therefore does not give you the best grip ever on small holds. The toe also wore down fairly quickly. I have had some issues with gripping small jibs with the toes. The shoe is also just a little too comfortable. It also turns your feet entirely red after you wear them for any extended period of time. I have used better Sportivas
