"Awesome! Great shoe for training and overhug boulders" 01/05/12
Got this shoe from a buddy who had an extra set. When they are downsized enough the heel is pretty good. (i do have a rather large volume heel though.....) The shoe sticks like glue. The rubber covered toe allowes for great toe hooks. The way the rubber wraps over the toe has made them last me a full year of heavy use without having to resole. The biggest downside is as the shoe ages, the elastic over the top gets loose.
"Great slipper with an unparralled (slipper) heel!" 11/08/11
The shoe is super comfortable and lacks nothing in the line of performance. I'm a heel hook fanatic and this shoe does not disappoint for my foot type. The only shoe with a better heel that I have tried on/climbed is the Miura VCS. The shoe is light and sensitive as billed. You should notice a little extra workout in your foot muscles if coming from a more "conventionally" edged, stiffer sole shoe.Sizing...I will list a few to hopefully assist: 43 in the Speedster, 42 in the Solution,43 Miura VCS, 42 Python, 43.5 Sportiva trail shoes, 9 in Patagonia.
"Great Shoe!" 03/20/11
this shoe was a replacement for my mad rocks, and i will never use any other brand of shoes again. La sportiva rubber is amazing, not to mention also quite stylish (i get quite alot of complements at my gym). This is a super aggressive shoe which really help with using this tiny foot holds. These shoes are also super comfortable for such an aggressive shoe. I will say though that this is the first aggressive shoe i've owed but I LOVE THEM!
"Good shoe on plastic and GREAT shoe on overhanging anything!" 12/05/10
Been using these shoes for all my gym sessions... They have no edge as stated before. I have never climbed in a more sensitive shoe and the no stretch factor is a huge plus. Size them the same as your Katana or Miura. I wear a sz. 12 street shoe and the 42 is a perfect performance fit for me. (I wear 41.5 in Cobras and 42.5 in Solutions, 43 in Testerossas and 42 in the afformentioned rock shoes) Although they were initially not my favorite, I have grown to really like em and just ordered my second pair. Another plus for gym climbing is that they are more durable than many shoes I've had... the sole wraps up over the front of the toe.
"Killer bouldering shoe" 10/27/10
I've never had a shoe fit this tight before without pain. You can size these things so small and climb hard in them with minimal discomfort. I wear a 10.5 street shoe and I can wear a 40 in these. They heel and toe hook better than anything else I've tried and I've climbed in about 30 different models. These are killer if you're looking for an amazing hooking shoe with enough sensitivity to feel super small edges. That being said, they don't come with an edge, it's rounded right out of the box. This takes some getting used to but once you adapt to your speedsters, they really do feel like they're rubber painted on your feet.
"omg they're so green!!!" 02/19/10
a replacement for sportiva's mantra-s, this sensitive shoe feels very downturned. with a combination of leather and synthetic, the shoe has not stretched much but i still downsized as much as i could (9.0 street to 39.0). the rubber on the top of the toe is great for toe hooks and bicycles while the heel seems to feel like rubber painted on my skin - perfect. a peculiar thing is that the toe edges are rounded right out of the box, which some have said slightly detracts from edging ability. the vibram xs-grip2 is super sticky!
