La Sportiva footwear is built and offered on European half sizes, which are smaller increments than US half sizes. This gives them four extra sizes per size run, and ultimately gives you a better fit.

Please review La Sportiva's size conversion chart above to help determine your ideal size. Below you will find additional information about how to fit and break in the different styles of La Sportiva footwear, which will also help guide you to the correct size.

• As a general rule soft shoes like climbing shoes require a tighter fit, or about two to three sizes smaller than your street shoe size.
• La Sportiva recommends you fit your trad climbing shoes one to two sizes under your street shoe size.
• La Sportiva offers a lot of lasts, and each offers a different fit and feel. Remember to factor in potential stretching.
• Unlined slip-lasted shoes tend to stretch a bit more than lined shoes, or about one full size.
• Lined shoes stretch about a half size.

• PERFORMANCE FIT - offers a high performance fit and a downturned last.
• TECH FIT - a more technical fit and a last with neutral profile.
• COMFORT FIT - a comfortable fit and a last with more volume and a neutral profile.

• Find your US Size in the guide above, then find the Euro Size conversion and add one half size.
• The ideal size holds your toes ever so slightly away from the front of the boot while the lacing system is snug across the top of your arch.
• If you can try to boots on beforehand, make sure you wear the same size and weight socks you would typically wear with the boots, and any orthotics or custom footbeds you use.
• It is ideal to fit boots later in the day since feet are prone to swell slightly as a day progresses.
• Wear your boots indoors only until you are confident about the fit.
• Your foot should feel snug (not tight) from the arch back into the heel pocket with just a minimum lift as you walk. If your heel lifts make sure the lacing is snug and not too loose.
• Your toes should NOT touch the front of the boot, but when you kick the toe into the floor, you should know where the front of the boot is. You want just enough room to wiggle your toes.
• If your toes or sides of your feet feel squished, most likely the width is too narrow and the boot will not work for you.
• If your toes touch the front of the boot, most likely it is too short and you need the next half size up.
• Make sure to keep all original packaging that came with your boots until you are sure that you are happy with your purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High expectations satisfied Purchased this month after years of procrastination- I've spent a decade searching for a boot to fill the void left behind after I retired my old fleet of Vasque and Scarpa. The La Sportiva Pamir is everything it promises to be. More similar to the Inverno than the Super Hiker II, this piece of equipment is not made for casually trekking across campus - unless you're classes meet miles beyond a PCT or AT trailhead. The little brother of the La Sportiva Nepal- but just as stiff. Size conversion (communist metric 45.5 + a half size to 46) resulted in a perfect fit for my all American size 12. If I could turn back time and change only one thing- I would order a second pair- not that I'll ever wear through the pair I have- but just to be opulent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT BOOT! I have bought owned 2 pairs fo ASOLO Fugitive GTXs, they only lasted 1 year each (I wear every single day as regular walking boots, on and off muddy job sites), the Pamir is built better, wears better, supports better, much more water proof . . . basically a baby Nepal EVO GTX, normal size heel locks in your foot, but large toe area, perfect for wider feet, or double wool socks

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bombproof shoe, Water-resistant (not proof) Bought this nearly a decade after the nepal extreme boots, which are still in excellent condition (pretty reliable company). These boots are solid; the curve in the sole really makes this boot feel broken-in even before you put socks on. Boot is water-resistant, if you stand in water (about 2 minutes), it might get a little damp inside, so will be applying more water-proofer, not that i go walking in swamps. Otherwise, perfect for heavy loads, and more than anything, your feet will love you,

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Quality Spent seven days wearing these all day to start to break them in. That went well. Then went on a three day backpacking trip. Both toes separated in the first three miles and continue to show additional areas where the boot it literally falling apart over the next 30 miles. After the trip one boots leather looks fine and the other looks totally different - cracking and just funky feel. Will be throwing these away today. Not worth my time to send them back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good boot I work as a Lineman in far Northern California, these boots are great for climbing poles and are very stable for hauling heavy loads through the woods to power poles. The shank is nice and stiff but still has enough flex so it doesn't feel like you are walking in ski boots. The calf skin liner is very comfortable and slick to prevent blistering. Break in period isn't bad. All and all its a great boot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No questions asked boot. I bought these for the Gran Tetons, we were taking a five day hike from Teton Village and over Paintbrush divide. I bought them ahead of time anticipating a need to break in because of the full leather upper. However, there were great out of the box a do not got better with wear. I did put some smart feet inserts in them and I recommend you do the same with most any boot. These will be ok without an insert and maybe a little better off compared to others because the insert that came with them had some nice structure to it. Water proof out of the box, I would recommend nikwax for further protection. Absolutely love the calf skin lining, I had zero blister problems, my foot stayed comfortable throughout the day , heel locked in with no movement This was my first La Sportiva purchase, I have now ordered an approach boot to wear around town this winter and I am looking at one of their trail shoes. Great brand! Don't worry about the weight they stick to your foot so much I didn't notice.
