LA SPORTIVA FIT GUIDE and INFO

La Sportiva footwear is built and offered on European half sizes, which are smaller increments than US half sizes. This gives them four extra sizes per size run, and ultimately gives you a better fit.

Please review La Sportiva's size conversion chart above to help determine your ideal size. Below you will find additional information about how to fit and break in the different styles of La Sportiva footwear, which will also help guide you to the correct size.

ROCK CLIMBING SHOES:
• As a general rule soft shoes like climbing shoes require a tighter fit, or about two to three sizes smaller than your street shoe size.
• La Sportiva recommends you fit your trad climbing shoes one to two sizes under your street shoe size.
• La Sportiva offers a lot of lasts, and each offers a different fit and feel. Remember to factor in potential stretching.
• Unlined slip-lasted shoes tend to stretch a bit more than lined shoes, or about one full size.
• Lined shoes stretch about a half size.

ROCK CLIMBING SHOE FIT SYSTEMS:
• PERFORMANCE FIT - offers a high performance fit and a downturned last.
• TECH FIT - a more technical fit and a last with neutral profile.
• COMFORT FIT - a comfortable fit and a last with more volume and a neutral profile.

HIKING, BACKPACKING and MOUNTAINEERING BOOTS:
• Find your US Size in the guide above, then find the Euro Size conversion and add one half size.
• The ideal size holds your toes ever so slightly away from the front of the boot while the lacing system is snug across the top of your arch.
• If you can try to boots on beforehand, make sure you wear the same size and weight socks you would typically wear with the boots, and any orthotics or custom footbeds you use.
• It is ideal to fit boots later in the day since feet are prone to swell slightly as a day progresses.
• Wear your boots indoors only until you are confident about the fit.
• Your foot should feel snug (not tight) from the arch back into the heel pocket with just a minimum lift as you walk. If your heel lifts make sure the lacing is snug and not too loose.
• Your toes should NOT touch the front of the boot, but when you kick the toe into the floor, you should know where the front of the boot is. You want just enough room to wiggle your toes.
• If your toes or sides of your feet feel squished, most likely the width is too narrow and the boot will not work for you.
• If your toes touch the front of the boot, most likely it is too short and you need the next half size up.
• Make sure to keep all original packaging that came with your boots until you are sure that you are happy with your purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from THE shoe The Miura is my go to shoe I absolutely love it. Nothing has ever felt better on my feet I've had these shoe since May of 2010 and they haven't skipped a beat. I had them resoled once and they still put out the edging and the precise toes I need. The heal is solid and the toe hook is great and the best part is there laces! I'd say for anybody beginner or expert the Miura is THE shoe to get i wear an 8.5 street shoe and my Miura's are 37 and I wish I went down a half size but regardless the shoe still is my favorite I mainly boulder and these shoes kill overhangs and if I'm climbing slabs I just leave them untied and they smear like crazy

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Technical > Comfort Big walls, indoor, bouldering, and any other part of this game, the Sportiva Miura exceeded my expectations. Usually such an aggressive shoe would be recommended for overhangs, increasingly difficult shorter routes and more technical climbing in general, however if you find the perfect size for you then these bad boys are good for any type of climbing. I had a few pairs Sportiva Mythos for years and thought I'd never find an equivalent... :),,I "always" recommend making the trip to a local outdoors store like REI to try on the shoe your buying. ,,Anyone thinking about these, if you've got the money, the bang is worth the buck.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from They call me Peter Parker!! I have been climbing for 2 years and in the beginning I was told to buy these. I didn't and tried a bunch of other shoes in the meantime. Just picked up a pair about a month ago. I find that these shoes are not the best for beginning climbers. For the best performance with these shoes they practically need to be painted on; which in the beginning of my climbing career I was not interested in. I wear a size 8.5 street shoes and have a wide front to my foot. i was able to fit in the 38.5 but was looking more for comfort. Went with a 39 and they broke in like buttah! I thought they performed awesome right out of the box. No lack in performance even with comfort!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great BUT.. Ok, here's the bottom line: I was a little disappointed at the quality of the rubber. It isn't as sticky as I expected nor quite as durable (chips fairly easily on rock.. err..). The aggressiveness of the shoe mostly (but not entirely) makes up for it. ,,And the biggest downfall to the shoe would be that it's terrible (relatively speaking) for toe hooks and bicycles. The non-rubber material doesn't grip AT ALL - you'll be slipping like a mofo. I have a pair of 30 dollar FMtech's that make these look bad (which upset me considering I spent more than 4 times as much for the Miura's but oh well). Excellent for overhands and edging, just... watch out for toe hooks :|

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great all around shoe! The Miura could be called the perfect shoe. I bought mine specifically for a comfy all day trad shoe, but since have started using them on my boulder projects and shorter sport climbs. They're down-turned enough to be useful while hooking footholds under overhangs, but comfortable and flexible enough to edge and smear all day on slab climbs. The ONLY thing that I might say needs improvement is the heel: it could use a more textured edge for heel hooking. That said, somehow, this shoe stays comfortable while not sacrificing the precision and feel you get with a tighter shoe. Oh, and the lacing system works like magic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from B.A.M.F-ing Shoe These shoes are amazing. I got them after I broke through my pair of Evolvs and were recommended to me. I couldn't stand how every time I would take my Bandits off everywhere within a quarter mile suddenly smelled like nasty feet. These shoes are also just amazingly made in general. The edges on these are fantastic and are just aggressive enough to work as decent bouldering shoes as well. On the right feet these shoes can do great things. My bandits only lasted me two short months while at six months these shoes are still going strong (with no nasty odors!!!). Honestly I don't think I will buy anything but Miura's from now on they are well worth the money put into them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Precise Edging Weapon From slab to slightly overhung, the Miura is my go to shoe. The XS edge rubber is not as sticky as XS grip or stealth rubber, but edges very well to compensate and seems fairly resistant to wear so far. When sized tight heel hooking is excellent and very secure. The toe is super precise and great for small pockets and tiny edges. The shoes also do well bouldering but are only ok past 45 degrees overhanging. I typically wear a size 10 (43) street shoe and got my Miuras in a size 40.5, but I sometimes regret not going another half size down to eliminate the (tiny amount of) dead space in the heel and get a slightly more aggressive curl in my big toe. Overall a great shoe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AMAAAAAZING Buy them. I know what you're thinking--they're expensive, and they're just a pair of climbing shoes, how great can they be? Well, as it happens, they're super comfortable even in a highly-knuckled performance fit I'm comfortable wearing them for 30-40 minutes at a time, stick to the smallest holds I swear I started climbing a grade harder the day I switched to these, and have that wonderful fit that only laced shoes can have while simultaneously having so few laces that they don't take much more time to put on than velcros. Not to mention that they look sweet. Find them on sale some place and pricematch them here so that you'll get extra rewards points out of it, too.
