"Technical > Comfort" 02/25/12
Big walls, indoor, bouldering, and any other part of this game, the Sportiva Miura exceeded my expectations. Usually such an aggressive shoe would be recommended for overhangs, increasingly difficult shorter routes and more technical climbing in general, however if you find the perfect size for you then these bad boys are good for any type of climbing. I had a few pairs Sportiva Mythos for years and thought I'd never find an equivalent... :)I "always" recommend making the trip to a local outdoors store like REI to try on the shoe your buying. Anyone thinking about these, if you've got the money, the bang is worth the buck.
"Super Great All Around Climbing Shoes!" 02/19/12
These shoes are fantastic! Have had two pairs now and I absolutely love them! They are not nearly as aggressive as they look in photos, making them a general all around great climbing shoe. Super Stiff toes and edges so you can stand on the tiniest nub'ns ever! Size down a size or two from your street shoe because they do a good deal of stretching during the breaking in phase and I am going to venture to say they are slightly thin so they fit good on thinner feet versus wider feet. Overall quality product from a fantastic company!
"Great all around shoe!" 01/28/12
The Miura could be called the perfect shoe. I bought mine specifically for a comfy all day trad shoe, but since have started using them on my boulder projects and shorter sport climbs. They're down-turned enough to be useful while hooking footholds under overhangs, but comfortable and flexible enough to edge and smear all day on slab climbs. The ONLY thing that I might say needs improvement is the heel: it could use a more textured edge for heel hooking. That said, somehow, this shoe stays comfortable while not sacrificing the precision and feel you get with a tighter shoe. Oh, and the lacing system works like magic.
"Amazing shoe" 12/29/11
My go to shoe when I need a boost on a hard problem or the over-hung route I'm working. Definitely get them sized before you order. But once I used these I never wanted to lace up another shoe. Perfect for pockets, edges, small cracks, etc
"These shoes are awesome! They are super super edgy and have a perfect toe box!" 08/05/11
These things are great. I got them a size and a half down and they are a little tight but i cant wait till they stretch out. They feel snug on the foot and let you stick to anything! Just the right stiffness for a good all around shoe. Would recommend them to anyone!
"I love this shoe" 05/18/11
I'm a girl, but I had tried the mens version and really really like it. I've beaten them up pretty badly, but it's worth it. I find that I trust my feet much more on edges and smearing which for me has really improved my climbing.I did go a half size smaller than the last pair of shoes I purchased (Mythos) and I'm glad I did. They didn't stretch as much as I'd expected but they did enough, but I think the next half size down wouldve been too much.I'd buy these again.
"Great BUT.." 12/09/10
Ok, here's the bottom line: I was a little disappointed at the quality of the rubber. It isn't as sticky as I expected nor quite as durable (chips fairly easily on rock.. err..). The aggressiveness of the shoe mostly (but not entirely) makes up for it. And the biggest downfall to the shoe would be that it's terrible (relatively speaking) for toe hooks and bicycles. The non-rubber material doesn't grip AT ALL - you'll be slipping like a mofo. I have a pair of 30 dollar FMtech's that make these look bad (which upset me considering I spent more than 4 times as much for the Miura's but oh well). Excellent for overhands and edging, just... watch out for toe hooks :|
"I use it as my general climbing shoe" 12/07/10
I bought this shoe back in the spring because I decided it was finally time to own a pair of my own shoes. Having read many reviews on the shoe myself, I decided to give it a try even though many people commented on how aggressive it was. Although the first month or so of climbing in the shoes was a bit tough, it is now almost a year later and I love them. I have used them both indoors and outdoors between three and five times a week and they are still in good condition. I did downsize about two sizes from the pair of 5.10s I had been using before, though.
