"Bomb Proof!"  02/23/12

When the revolution happens, and you had one choice of boot to head to the mountain with, THESE ARE IT! I hike, backpack, climb in these and they excel in everything I throw at them. The break in was short, around 40 miles or so. They are comfortable and very water proof. The sizing is true, however on the narrow side of normal, like LaSportiva tends to be.

"toughest boots around"  11/23/11

i had to buy a new pair because my last pair disappeared in mysterious circumstances. i love sportivas top quality, ingenious design and above all their over all toughness. you really have to get a good fit, and then it takes tens of miles to break in, but damn these are some awesome piece of foot gear, these some virbrams and your golden. .

"Ready to put to the ultimate test"  10/21/11

Still wearing these bad boys in but they have been purchased to do some serious mountaineering in South America. Comfortable, fit well and true to size. They have tackled some really wet weather and have stood the test.

"Perfect boots to reach a summit mountain!"  08/11/11

I am fascinated with my boots, I bought them last may, and I use them a lot in the mexican mountains, they can support all kind of weather and your feet are still dry, even, with crampons are very easy to adjust and can continue your way to the summit without problems.I almost forgot to mention that You can adjust laces very quickly, because have an special brooch in the middle of the boot!

"Combat-Ready"  11/22/10

You need to hump about 20-30 miles in them before getting serious. You need to break them in and they need to break you in a little; but once you do, you'll have a footgasm each and every time wearing them. I humped all over Afghanistan's Hundu Kush in them, and while others were changing wet socks every five kilometers I would stand there and eat MREs in my dry, warm "foot duvets". The tongue comes out for easy drying/cleaning purposes which is nice and the tough soles don't chew up from kickin' rocks. The sharp heel is ideal for tough descents as well. These boots are impenetrable, and if the snow gets a bit deeper, throw on a pair of gaiters and life will be grand.

"Leather Cracked, not so pleased"  11/01/10

Used these hiking the Swiss Alps from Germany to Italy... too much cow poop saturated the leather and it eventually split :( Otherwise they were comfy. Now I just wear trail runners.

"Stu Pendous! No, not the product - me!"  10/17/10

In fact, Stu Pendous is my screen name. Perhaps you've seen my latest movie. If not, don't worry. It'll be out on VHS as soon as they bring that format back. <I am assured of this by the studio under the 'what goes around comes around' clause in my contract>. (Back to review ...) Stu Pendous! Great boot. Great fit. And I'm prone to fits. Great delivery. Better than Mel Gibson in Hamlet. Perfect boot for scrabblin' around here north of 60 and should get me plenty of miles with the girl of my dreams, that subalpine maiden, Ellie Vation. Am thinking of buying another pair just so I can experience the wonder all over again!

"OOOOOOO Just as comfortable as my custom mold hockey-skates!!!"  09/05/10

The greatness with these boots is that while they have a full metal shank, they also have a bit of "rocker" built in. So that means it's not like walking on a pair of ski-boots. They hold my foot perfectly, with plenty of arch support while allowing for full room in the instep area. The heel is snug but not tight, and the lacing system is as good as I have found since the ASOLO pulley system. For support and comfort these are THE boot! And that's coming from a 6'3" 230pound kindergarten teacher who is on his feet in these bad boys 9 hours a day every day!!!!

"A Quiver of One"  08/18/10

Ok, so you can't clip into AT bindings with these, but they do everything else. Cramponing, scrambling, keeping your toes warm and dry...this is the boot you need for spring and fall Sierra trips where you might run into snow, ice, and rock. Or winter trips where you decide not to take the skis. Or the summer if you're doing some burly load carrying and need something more signifcant than approach shoes. Hey, they last forever, so you'll find something to use them for.

"Outstanding boot. Passed the NOLS test easily"  07/25/10

I just got back from a NOLS mountaineering course in WY that involved about 100 miles of travel days over snow, glacier, boulders, and moraine. In addition to the travel days we climbed 7 peaks and these boots were absolutely bomb proof. Crampons fit perfectly, the lace locks helped to ensure an incredible fit. I recommend this boot to anyone who will be traveling over all sorts of terrain and need to have a boot last thru brutal abuse. Break in time was quick considering the level of this boot.

"Well worth the the money"  05/06/09

great boot for heavy backpacking and if necessary, to clip on some crampons. the full grain leather is a plus, tough against rocks, etc... the only downside, might be that the boot can take much longer to break in than one would think.
