I used these to climb the Grand Teton and I love the high tops for ankle support. The soles are durable but the down side is that they are not as sticky as I hoped. I really like how sticky the Five Ten Guide Tennie approach shoes are but the Ganda Guides have less grip on rock. I decided to have my Ganda Guides re-soled with Five Ten dot sticky rubber. Now I have the best of both worlds- comfort, ankle support, and sticky soles. I will wear them on a 5.8+ with no problems and great comfort. I am very happy with them but the cost of the shoe and the cost of the resole make me wonder if I should have just bought a new pair of Five Ten Guide Tennies.
