I ran the 10 mile Tough Mudder in these shoes and felt invinsible. Low profile, great feel and best of all the traction worked amazingly well in the mud. Id scream by dozens of people on uphill ascents as they slid back downhill. Were still snug and comfortable even after swimming through multiple ponds. Washed them with a hose and dried by the next morning and still look brand new. I wouldnt dare try any other shoe for a race like the Tough Mudder. They also work very well as a city winter everyday wear. Ive used them for everything. They dont dissapoint. My first pair of La Sportiva and Ill surely buy again.
Maybe not, but I'll bet he would choose these as his trail runner of choice. I like them, anyway. I like the low-profile midsole, the deep, well-spaced lugs, and the athletic fit. I think the shoe looks cool. They did very well for the trail marathon my legs were not prepared for. The heel counter has never fit me great, as it's a little too aggressive, but I just tie my shoes a little looser when I experience any irritation and I have no problems. By the way, I hate the Crosslite 2.0. The midsoles feel completely different in these two shoes.
I understand that every person is different. With that being said, i love these shoes, from the first time i ran in them. there was about 6" of packed snow, and very icy in some areas(i had to use micro spikes on the ice) but everywhere else the traction was unbelievable. They seem to run a little small in sizing I'm a 44 and usually get a 43. these shoes are for trail running, so if you wear them for everyday sneakers, they will wear out rather quickly, but if you use them as per design, they work flawlessly.
I ordered these last week and since there is still ice all over the ground, but upon me trying these on they are the most comfortable shoe I have ever owned. Great traction, and I can not wait to hit the trails in a few weeks.
My foot is a little wide up in the toe area so I had trouble finding shoes that didn't give me a blister on my pinky toe. After trying on every pair of trail runners and some cross trainers these are what I settled on. I can wear these for 10+ miles a day with light hiking socks and my feet are still happy come nightfall.They stick well in mud but also in loose sandy conditions.They breath well, dry quick, and stick to most things on the trail. I love the mesh over the laces because not only does it keep the laces tucked away while walking but when I get to camp in the evening I untie them, loosen the laces, and tuck them back in the mesh to make slippers for camp.
Super light, but super comfy and with good support especially in the ankle and knee. Really good traction when brand new. The lace guard keeps sand out.I also have a pair of Brooks Cascadias, and the padding is much softer... almost numb. You can feel what you are stepping on much better with the La Sportivas. This is very useful when trail running because you can more easily tell if a rock is loose and ready to slide. I've even done some bouldering with them.I've had mine for a year (heavy use): toe area is falling apart and knobs are worn down... my fault because I have worn them to walk around on pavement. Now I'm thinking about getting a new pair--they are just that good.
Used these all summer up here in Alaska. They dried out well over night and the meshy stuff held up until fall. I'm going to buy another pair one size bigger for extra socks and bread bags for the winter. They are a bit narrow if you've got Sasquatch feet.
These shoes are exactly what I was looking for, the toe cover is great for dragging your foot after a shot and not tearing up your shoes. The fabric covering the laces is great to keep grass seed, twigs, and other debris from getting stuck in your laces. The tread! AWESOME! It holds tight against a hill and provides a grip that allows me to dig and get more power. As for the fit, I have a slightly narrower than average foot and they're nice and snug. If you have wider feet this is probably not the shoe for you. I wear a US 11 and the Euro 45 fits great. I realize that my use of this shoe is outside its intended purpose. So just imagine how they will work out on your local trail! LOVE 'EM!
I freaking love these shoes. I've run everything from a dewy morning 5k to a 50k trail run. I've run on roads, gravel, trail, scree, grass, everything.I love the low profile, and the minimalistic design. The shoe has hefty lugs that do really well on most surfaces. There is a touch of cushion. The scree guard is nice, but not really that good. The shoe is built for neutral runners, with narrow toes so size up 1/2 a size.Only cons is the lining stretched out and bunched up in the back. Also, they don't breath as well as i think they could.If you're not sold on them yet, then here's the kicker. Jonny Copp wore them.
After straggling for a long time settled with these shoes. Really light, sock - like fit and still have a lot of toe room (that is always a problem for me). Very good feeling on rocks and mad.The biggest issue is that mash on top gets worn out, but I could still put decent mileage on it (probably ~500 m on each pair).Unisex - though our entire family switched to it. Fits from narrow to very wide feet (I don't understand how it is possible either). The sizing on website is accurate.
On my foot, this shoe fits like a glove. It has great traction even when I'm flying down a muddy hill, thanks to the amazing tread. The cushioning is perfect for trail running: not too much and not too little. They have held up very well and have seen many a trail run and approach hike to the crag.
