La Sportiva footwear is built and offered on European half sizes, which are smaller increments than US half sizes. This gives them four extra sizes per size run, and ultimately gives you a better fit.

Please review La Sportiva's size conversion chart above to help determine your ideal size. Below you will find additional information about how to fit and break in the different styles of La Sportiva footwear, which will also help guide you to the correct size.

• As a general rule soft shoes like climbing shoes require a tighter fit, or about two to three sizes smaller than your street shoe size.
• La Sportiva recommends you fit your trad climbing shoes one to two sizes under your street shoe size.
• La Sportiva offers a lot of lasts, and each offers a different fit and feel. Remember to factor in potential stretching.
• Unlined slip-lasted shoes tend to stretch a bit more than lined shoes, or about one full size.
• Lined shoes stretch about a half size.

• PERFORMANCE FIT - offers a high performance fit and a downturned last.
• TECH FIT - a more technical fit and a last with neutral profile.
• COMFORT FIT - a comfortable fit and a last with more volume and a neutral profile.

• Find your US Size in the guide above, then find the Euro Size conversion and add one half size.
• The ideal size holds your toes ever so slightly away from the front of the boot while the lacing system is snug across the top of your arch.
• If you can try to boots on beforehand, make sure you wear the same size and weight socks you would typically wear with the boots, and any orthotics or custom footbeds you use.
• It is ideal to fit boots later in the day since feet are prone to swell slightly as a day progresses.
• Wear your boots indoors only until you are confident about the fit.
• Your foot should feel snug (not tight) from the arch back into the heel pocket with just a minimum lift as you walk. If your heel lifts make sure the lacing is snug and not too loose.
• Your toes should NOT touch the front of the boot, but when you kick the toe into the floor, you should know where the front of the boot is. You want just enough room to wiggle your toes.
• If your toes or sides of your feet feel squished, most likely the width is too narrow and the boot will not work for you.
• If your toes touch the front of the boot, most likely it is too short and you need the next half size up.
• Make sure to keep all original packaging that came with your boots until you are sure that you are happy with your purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good all around shoes These shoes are great for all around climbing and are sooo comfy! I was looking for something like that to climb indoors especially instead of wasting my VS and the Venoms are not as comfy.,,I sized them the same as my VS and Venom (although I think I should go half a size up for the Venoms). The first route was a bit painful but on the second one, it wasn't hurting anymore already. The rand is way softer than VS and Venom's.,,Would be good for all day climbing on some vertical walls as well so you won't have to take them off as soon as you're done climbing. But I still use my VS for these occasions which are more polyvalent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shoes! I have to agree and say that you should downsize for sure. Although the first week was absolute hell they have finally stretched enough after three weeks to wear for 30-45 minutes at a time. I'm sure after a few months I probably won't even have to take them off. I wear a size 9 street shoe and purchased a size 38, which works just fine. Personally I wouldn't mind going down to a 37.5 or 37 but prepare for some toe destruction the first few weeks! As far as performance goes this is the first pair of shoes I have bought and I absolutely love them! Way better than the rental shoes at the local climbing gym here.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buy them small and these shoes are your best friend! If you know climbing shoes you know that with an aggressive slipper like this you need to get them smaller than you think. I wear a size 10.5 street shoe and ended up getting these in a size 7.5. They are very tight but according to all of the reviews that I read from several different sources they stretch a fair amount. As tight as they are they are perfect if you do any bouldering! The shoe fits my foot with no extra air pockets which make it perfect for standing on tiny edges or precise toe placement or heel hooks on overhanging climbs. My one complaint is that the leather comes a little high around the ankle and rubs against the outside of my ankle bone. Overall this shoe is exactly what I was looking for.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from comfy...a little too comfy 2 words DOWN SIZE if you want this shoe to work to its fullest make sure you get the smallest size you could possibly get your foot into they stretch a lot. they are probably the best toe hooking shoes I've ever owned but the heels slip out kinda easily also I ripped the biggest hole in the leather of my right toe so my advice would be to get a rubber patch over the part of the toe that doesn't already have rubber I boulder mainly and my cobras haven't touched a rope climb my cobras are 36.5 but i should have went with 36's i wear an 8.5 street shoe

Rated 5 out of 5 by from yay theyre making cobras again!!! as a boulderer, this is currently my main shoe. surprisingly comfortable for the amount downsized (yeah, they stretch a decent amount and sportiva tends to size pretty large for climbing shoes). in street shoes, i wear a men's US 8.5 or 9.0; i ended up getting a 39.0 for these. they don't stay downturned very long but the relatively thin sole tends to make up for that. heelhooking is sometimes iffy but overall the shoe is precise, sensitive edging with amazing comfort. as an added bonus, they're now making these with xs-grip 2!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Climbing shoes I've ever had I have had a ton of climbing shoes in my time, and i must say, you can't go wrong with la sportiva. I go through about a pair of climbing shoes every 6 months...many of them just can't handle getting resoled...but my la sportivas are pretty much good forever....and usually it takes me longer to wear off the edges. I LOVE this pair in particular because it really molds to your foot for a perfect fit. My only wish is that they would make a lower volume women's version of this shoe....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Super aggressive, amazing to climb in, but bit of a pain in the ankle. These shoes are like nothing I've ever used before. They just seam to weld them selves to the rock, it is ridiculous. Could not be better for edging and smearing. The only this is the back, they have taken some skin off my ankles a couple of times after wearing them for a few hours. Not something I want to stand around belaying in, I tend to slip the backs under my heals (I know bad for the shoe) and walk more on my toes until I'm ready to hop on something.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sweet sport slipper I got these in a 40.5 and I wear 10.5 street shoes. They are very comfortable and I think I could spend an entire day in them while not fitting too baggy. They make your feet orange, like flintstone feet, after you take them off from a long session. The rubber is great and they edge really well. Not amazing for heel hooks, at least not compared to the speedsters. These are my FAVORITE sport shoes. check them out!
