"Life Changer"  10/04/11

I bought the B5's and three weeks later my wife was pregnant... coincidence?

"Great shoe, should be discounted more by Moosejaw"  08/31/10

Wondering why they're only 10% off, since Sportiva has discontinued this shoe...

"Great Shoe For the Avid Outdoorsman"  08/30/10

Upon placing my eyes on such a wonderful shoe, I knew that I had to have them. I bought them indeed, and slipped them on when the box arrived at my house. I immediately felt warm inside, and went out for a hike in the wilderness. This shoe succeeded in making me look sexy as sexy can possibly be, and was extremely functional as well. I congratulate La Sportiva on a job well done with this shoe.

"Cant beat em"  08/02/10

These shoes were my daily drivers for a year and never had a problem with them, they held up very well despite my best efforts. Also worked great on quite a few hikes and climbs, had great traction on scrambles. They live up to the Sportiva name

"High Altitude Cakewalking 5.10b!"  01/12/10

I trust LS to make a good shoe. So I did't even try these on in the store - I just took them straight to the gym where I kicked off my worn out second pair of LS Cirques and tied into the new B5s. My feet were so pleased that I tossed the old Cirques in the empty B5 box and tossed the box into the trash, announcing that I was ready to set some routes! "Whoa, cowboy! You sure you want to do that?", said the cautionary voice from the gallery. "Pretty sure.", I replied. "You'd better be able to send a 5.10b in them, or you will need that box and the receipt." "Dude, stand back; I'll highball one. Don't bother spotting me."The 10b was a piece of cake. And I went above the bouldering line!

"like all la sportiva products, they fit awesome and have great support"  03/29/09

this approach shoe looks slick, you can use it out on the town, hiking, and finding your nearest crag. the rubber is sticky and you can feel comfortable scrambling around, seem to take quite a beating and hold up good. sturdy material on the outside, comfortable sole on the inside.

"Look cool, feel great."  03/21/09

These are very comfy shoes and the soles are just firm enough to isolate you from sharp rocks, but still be comfortable around town without looking silly.

"Great scrambling shoe"  03/17/09

Sizing is a little odd, since the rubber toe makes it feel like you're hitting the front of the shoe when you're really not. It's this rubber toe that also makes it pretty stiff and takes a little more to break in. On an 8-mile hike back, my little toes got the brunt of the punishment due to the high rubber (no blisters, just hamburger-like). That should go away with some more breaking-in, just realize you can't use it right out of the box.Rock solid on some pretty nasty scrambling, and even did well on some ball-bearing scree (w/ 30+ lbs of gear). In case you're curious about sizing, I wear a 40 in the Katana, a 42 in the Trango Extreme, and a 41 for the B5.

"Comfortable, Casual, Performance, Style, Built to work but not to last."  02/18/09

The B5 is a great shoe. I loved it from the minute I pulled it out of the box. I wear them everywhere. Hiking, climbing, on the town. They are my only pair of shoes and because of this, I blew thru them real quick. They fit like a glove, so long as you get the right size. As an approach shoe you must be sure to get a size that fits a little snug as long as you will be using it for it's intended purpose.

"Wow <-(Moosejaw told me this was too short)"  10/03/08

These shoes took a bit to break-in, but now they are amazing. All day comfort with support when you need it.

"Does exactly what it says on the tin!"  05/06/08

Comfy for walking, and good for easy to average routes outdoors. More stiff than the average light hiking shoe, so should tackle harder terrain in a better way.
